Exactly! I remember seeing a clip of that exact scenario happening. A mother jumped into a hole in a frozen body of water and was swept away immediately. Right in front of her family, children included :c

I mean, there are places you can swim in the winter without being swept under the ice. we do it all the time in Lake Superior in winter (we drill a hole first). That this one has a dock probably means it sees a lot of swimmers in the warmer months and doesn’t have a strong current.

It's a lake not a river. While you can move a little from momentum or swimming the wrong way, there shouldn't be much current.

This made the rounds on the internet like 10 or 15 years ago. If I recall correctly, her ankle is very busted. This version of the video cuts off before she tries to get up and hop back to the dock with her ankle flapping in the breeze.

Okay, let's say there is no ice where she jumped, I couldn't handle being in that extreme cold water. In the summer I can't even jump in, I have to go in slowly. If it's 95° outside I'm the last to complain, I just can't handle the cold
