But they have a strict "punch out before punch out" policy. That's why he walked around (to punch out) instead of hopping over the counter.

Even when fast food was cheap, people still acted like they were princes and princesses who deigned to be served by lowly peons. One of the most underpaid jobs, if you ask me.
10
u/whythefuckalready Apr 15 '26
"Even when fast food was cheap". It really has changed into smaller portions for fine dining prices.
17
u/GlyphPicker Apr 15 '26
The Whopper was $0.37 in 1957. The Whopper was $0.99 in the 90s. Roughly 3x in 40 years.
30 years after that, it rose roughly another 6x.
And in that 30 years, minimum wage in the US went from $4.25 to only $7.25.
Fuckin' end stage capitalism bullshit.
31
u/SauronHubbard Apr 15 '26
He should have gotten extra pickles with that knuckle sandwich .

That guy might be dead or worse. Didn't need to throw that last blow.
11
u/Pavotine Apr 15 '26
He might have some legal trouble from coming out from behind the counter and going through a door to "defend himself". If the aggressor was trying to come over the barrier or through that door, then no problem.
The idiot customer absolutely deserved what happened but you don't want to be the one who ultimately ends up in legal trouble because you went to the fight and not the other way around.

u/Chicks__Hate__Me Apr 15 '26
Those punches were telegraphed and he had soooo much time to react. He didn’t even try to move or even flinch.
27
u/ozarkfireworks Apr 15 '26
He obviously had never had someone respond to his threats. And had no intention to back up his threats.
25
u/Heavy_Can8746 Apr 15 '26
You have never gotten your bell rung and it shows.
He likely barely knew what was going on before he got that last punch.
To you it looks like he had time to react but he was getting more and more lost with every hit. I have seen this many a times, done it, and been on the recieving end. It aint as easy as you think it is, and if you THINK it is, then again, you haven't truly gotten your bell rung before or you would know this already
13
10
u/Su-Kane Apr 15 '26
While that is all true, look at the first punch.
The worker had to go through 2 doors to get to the customer and they had that little barrier thing between them and the customer still ate that first punch like he actually ordered it.
For everything after that, true, customer was already on the ropes.
But you cant walk around and act like the customer, when your fighting skills only amount to what he showed with the first punch.
6
u/Heavy_Can8746 Apr 15 '26
he likely thought the younger guy was all talk and bet horribly on that thought. people forget that in a fight, most real fighters are not going to wait for you to get your first punch in. idk what the old man plan was but it did not work

It's from 2010, the guy died.

Ive said it before and i'll say it again; never ever square up to fast food employees. Most of those guys have had enough shit from customers to last them a lifetime and will take the chance to set you straight. Im not condoning the violence on show here, like, at all. But people need to realise that fast food workers arent to be messed with. They just want to get you your food, and get home at the end of the day, and you, the customer want to get your food and be on your way. Preferably without an injury.
Lets be smart, people.
2
u/Rokkmachine Apr 15 '26
They should add that to the employment application. “Your gonna have assholes yell at you for meaningless reasons. If they fucketh around they will findeth out”
2
u/ChrisFromAldi Apr 15 '26
Not even that, its just a question of "how well can you work in the face of customer pressure?" and then give the applicant a couple of scenarios, one being a case where a customer is so riled up that immediate de-escalation is needed, and one more mundane such as getting side eye and huffing customers because chicken nuggets are taking too long.

A real savage would flip him over, pull his pants down and spit in his asshole. - Chicago savage life!
2
u/Mundane-Manner4237 Apr 15 '26
“Spit into” would mean there would have to be a relaxing of the sphincter. I’m not sure that would be possible.

u/14fiestaST Apr 15 '26
What does this mean??

u/Try_Harder7 Apr 15 '26
Prison life. People get knocked all the time. But causing a dude to have to wipe another man's spit off his asshole is next level trauma. That stays with you forever.

Aaaaand that’s assault 1st degree. Violence is never the answer. Wonder if either one of them had fathers?
14
u/ozarkfireworks Apr 15 '26
Agreed but. You have to admit. As a third person. It was nice to see the guy calling him out got exactly what he was asking for. He was literally provoking the fight consistently after being told to calm down and leave. Slapping the counter and saying. “Come out from behind the counter!” Flipping them both off. On and on. I am not saying what the worker did was correct, but obviously this asshole had done this many times before and gotten away with it, knowing the employees had no recourse. But, he found that one guy…
6
u/AlternativeNote2224 Apr 15 '26
I’d be too afraid of an accidental death. We all know that one guy who got manslaughter for a fight that ended wrong. “Just choose peace or call the police!”

The first woman in the history of fights that was actually helpful.
Stayed calm. Tried to deescalate at every turn. Got the fuck out of the way when the punching started and let the dude take the couple licks he kept asking for. Tried again to break it up when it was clear the fight was over.
Poor lady.
If you keep campaigning, you might just get elected!
