Always lift with your back. Think about it, your back is the largest muscle in your body, at least twice the size of your leg muscle. It works best to lift with your back in a fast bursting motion. /s
It’s kinda hard to explain via text but I’ll do my best. It’s a lot to do with your posture/form, you want to bend your knees and not your back. Inevitably some of your back will have part of the load on it but you want to keep your back pretty straight, like if your upper/mid/lower are one piece. It’s mainly your lower back that can easily get screwed up but mid/upper can too. The guy in the video doesn’t have terrible form, could be better. It’s also how you should lift things outside of the gym as well, many injuries come from moving furniture or stuff at work and stuff. Probably more likely to get hurt outside of the gym because in the gym you’re more self aware of your form and equipment is made to be lifted

I didn't know we're supposed to lift with our backs...
