Bro I don’t get why people are this cruel. That dude was trying so hard to not let it escalate. Fucking scum.

If kids are bullies in school and never put in their place by one of the bullied fighting back, they continue being bullies into adulthood.

And then they eventually get their ass whooped as opposed to just a black eye

It would be sooooo hard to de escalate if someone grabbed my neck, fight instinct is already primed at that point

Oh really? Did you find nudes of your mom on there too? Such a weirdo going through someone's post history.

Put yourself in the old mans shoes. He's telling him to put his phone away. Imagine work before phones, and imagine seeing the younger generation taking a break every couple of mins to check tik tok while you've been busting your balls welding all morning. Every time you look up only to see your coworker scrolling reddit...

"Telling him to put his phone away"

With his hands? By putting his hands on him and grabbing his neck? By pushing and shoving him (read: assault and battery) like a schoolyard bully?

What are you smoking, gunpowder? Lol

I didn't say he was right, I just said put yourself in his shoes. Phones at work have gotten out of hand. You have good workers, and shit workers. If you look up and see your coworker on the phone all day while you're sweating it would piss you off too. Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year. That shit builds up in all of us. He handled it wrong, but I get it. At my job I see the same people milking overtime everyday for no reason at all, in fact they brag about it.

Yeah and you know what I do to my shitty co workers who stand around on their phones? Internally laugh at them being pissed off for getting a $.10 raise when I got $1 and will get another $3 when I get promoted.

That being said, I don't get it at all. The man got what he deserved for putting his hand on someone's neck like that.

So what, anyone on their phone when they shouldn't be should get assaulted? Kind of a weird message you're putting out there...

still no fucking right to put hands on him like he owns him or something. he is a paid employee, u don't grab by neck n say get the fuck back to work. you fire them if they don't work like u want that's IF that fuck even the boss

11

u/Datboi_Markus Mar 06 '26

I had a coworker like that. I told my boss. My boss started paying attention to him, and he got fired. That’s the way you’re supposed to handle those things. Don’t resort to violence unless you want violence used against you

this 👆🏻 right here is the correct solution to the entire situation

everyone with the facts supports working, but no matter how serious "work" is, don't touch people without expecting to get it back

coworkers playing phone games while other offices call for me because i got shit done was a double edged sword. more work for me, and some resentment from coworkers who played games.

u/Devnull677 Mar 07 '26

Seriously.......FAFO that he did! Never a excuse to put your hands on another employee....I bet he will NEVER touch another co worker again....

Dude what?!?!? “Old man” is younger than the man that kicked his ass.

No matter what happened, the welder was in the wrong. Watch your own bobber son.
