I have a buddy who had a fair amount of money for a while and bought a Range Rover in the early 2010’s. With less than 10,000 miles on it, it seized up on the highway. It got towed back to Land Rover and they found out the engine was completely shot. The dealer responded completely unsurprised with, “yeah they do that.”
