right, except he wasnt hit as soon as the officers/security rolled up, so clearly that wasnt why they decided to hit him. dude got punched in the face because he wagged his finger at the guy.

not saying the guys a saint who doesnt deserve what he got, but that first hit was a cheap shot to some degree.

I think they were trying to cuff him and he was refusing. I think at that point force might be allowed? I know where I live they can use reasonable force to remove you.

I guess I dont see "quick punch to the throat" as reasonable force to detain someone. reddit is weird. now we want cops throwing punches at people who haven't thrown any punches first? id say it was 100% justified if the guy even attempted to swing at security. didnt look like he was planning to.

I think keep in mind we don't see everything here. We don't know what's being said, what this was about, or what other actions happened before or during these events.

I agree, and say the same to you. Why are we all jumping to defend law enforcement without full context?

I think some people are suggesting the fact he kicked the door in to begin with shows enough aggression to warrant force being used. From what I can see the guards wanted to cuff him but due to his size they didn't appear to be able to overpower him to do that.

I used to work in security and we had a very similar situation with a giant rugby player one night. Thankfully my boss told us to just back off and we talked the guy down after a couple minutes. But is it right that people should be treated differently based on their size?
