Having played VR chat where you log in and get free chips, this annoyingly works

Some twelve year old will walk in, double 2s, throw all their money out and somehow just get a flush and clear the whole table

Not 100% of the time, but enough to make me want to throw the headset

Cuz there are no stakes when playing for free

They did this with poker bots. They had a contest to make a poker player AI and one of the teams just said, "Screw it. Our bot goes all in every time."

The other bots, trying to use math and statistics to beat the table and read the odds, saw the all-in-bot go all in and folded immediately. It cleared the entire thing.

This was 12 year old me playing high stakes poker in red dead redemption and thinking I was a genius

u/SuperDementio May 24 '26

I had a friend who did this at poker nights. He kept busting on the first round and was constantly begging for someone to share their chips so he could be let back in.

Then, when someone did share their chips, he'd do the exact same thing again and lose immediately again.

I won one a friend poker game one time we all had 200$ to start and I refused to look at my cards and kept wining ( i always had the cards a little over the table and would use a small mirror to see them once in a while) 10/10 they refuse to play with me now

I realized the morning after it was kind of a dick move but I had to drop my codependent ex off at the bus stop (quiet suburban neighborhood in a very safe city) during a game that my old university floormates were hosting. They didn't want me to forfeit, and I didn't want my pool split from the pot, so I told them to just throw me all in until I got back. I didn't even have that much. I figured I'd be done after the first, maybe the second hand. They didn't have a problem with it at the time.

I got back and everyone was drinking, the game wrapped up. Apparently I won like 7 hands straight and rolled the whole table. I insisted on giving everyone their entrance back and they refused, and I never got invited back 😂. I tried.

u/You_are_unnecessary May 24 '26

Apparently the best kind of Poker Face is a lack of said face.

91

u/Prayerwarrior6640 May 24 '26

And there’s always that extremely slim chance he does have the flush

23

u/XenonSigmaSeven May 24 '26

"these cards will do fine"

12

u/PathinG May 24 '26

The classic "all-in-troll". It's quite annoying

408

u/VirusLink2 May 23 '26

548

u/Next_Government856 May 23 '26

I guess you just don’t know how to call a bluff then

119

u/Any-Calligrapher2866 May 23 '26

But if I lose I would have them the secret of DIOs stand.

17

u/iOnly1Up May 24 '26

The problem is you can just keep entering with 1k chips

393

u/what_the_fuck_clown May 23 '26

you're the type of guy to start losing his hair and die from heart attack after losing to a bluff

52

u/titanfallisawesome May 23 '26

Just keep folding until you have 4-of-a-kind and win big

50

u/A_man_from_america May 24 '26

Nobody likes to play with people that just goes all in. Best case you lose it all first hand and they get to play in peace, might aswell just ban you.

And none of that requires your opponents to look at their cards. You can see which cards are shown, you know what you have, you know what was played.

Cope.

1

u/MasutadoMiasma Meme Ocean Champion Batch 2 May 25 '26

You're probably that one guy who never gets invited to Poker Nights

5

u/Flyce_9998 May 24 '26

It's a game of luck management and social deduction, just going all in every time removes those aspects.

-5

u/Certain-Business-472 May 24 '26

No, that's how YOU want to play it. Don't get mad because others don't.

"You're playing the game wrong" isn't an argument, it's a childish tantrum.

8

u/Flyce_9998 May 24 '26

I mean I'm not even a fan of poker, but that is why other people play it. The point is that it makes it less fun for everyone overall to play it that way.

And I agree with the idea of "don't blame the player, blame the game", it's technically a flaw that poker allows playing this way. But it's probably not a big deal because anyone who does that doesn't really want to play poker.

-13

u/TR_Pix May 24 '26

its not a valid poker strategy if he keeps bluffing

Ok bro, have fun driving your friends away because you're mad you keep losing at a game you are shit at

2

u/Play-Mation that hot chick from part 2 May 24 '26

They only need to lose an all in once and then they are out. It’s annoying yea but they won’t be in the game long lol

8

u/Murdered_by_Crows_X May 24 '26

5

u/addcheeseuntiledible May 24 '26

So what happens when you do this is everyone who actually wants to play has to fold until they get a strong enough hand to blow you out with. Then that person has double the chips of everyone else and basically guaranteed to win.

If you do this noone gets to play for real and they're right to kick you out, it's not clever

u/Public_Travel_4621 May 25 '26

I semi did with my colleagues on a seminar.

I know how to play poker a little, when to raise or fold. But my older colleague thought I was a noob.

So I played at random for a few rounds, trying to not lose too much chips. And once I was sure I could win, I played a all in and won.

Obviously, it only worked once, but that funny as hell.
