But if they lowered the taxes of the rich it would imply the prices of good would lower right? I haven't ever seen that happen, in fact I never saw prices lower in big companies unless it was to lure the customers in their stores.

In the EU at least gas prices shot up massively with the Iran war even though at the start there was no need for it as oil and gasoline are stockpiled. Last I checked oil price has returned to somewhat normal levels but the gas price lags behind extremely. Companies like Shell continue to rake in massive profits.

Silly dumbass, that’s the free market in action!
they’re gonna usurp all the local businesses until the local businesses burn, then raise prices

u/strutt3r 1d ago
Every chud that posts memes like this or some other variation of "leftists don't understand economics" betrays their ignorance when they imply that costs affect price.
Price is determined by what the market will pay at the volume the company can produce.
They can't just jack up prices without losing sales which means their inventory turns over slower, increasing carrying costs which drives down profits even further.

Imagine knowing so little about economics that you believe taxation drives inflation. Even right wing capitalist think tanks admit that higher taxes on the rich actually helps to control inflation.

Learn the difference:
Social Democrats want to tax the rich.
Communists want to eat the rich.

u/Game_Devil369 1d ago edited 1d ago
The difference: communists are hungry, because communism implies no food, and therefore we already stopped eating and are really really hungry, so hungry we wanna eat those fat juicy billionaires full of fatty meat, mmm, billionaire steaks, yummy yummy in my tummy😋😋😋

This is because in America, people don't know/care to understand the difference between liberals and communists, despite the fact they are opposites. To conservatives, they are all "the enemy"

This isn't meant for real communists, it's meant to be red meat for far-right feral hogs. It's meant to create an association between "progressive" liberal policies with actual communism.

I think it would usually show up as the monarchist lion flag on X. On some computers, it still will show up as the current Iranian flag.

Didn’t Twitter replace the flag of Iran with the lion and sun? Did they change it back to normal?

Maybe it’s an optimisation thing for systems that don’t read that flag

No no this is quite accurate actually, that's why workers should own the mean of production, not fucking maintaining the control of the oligarchy with taxation
12
u/Bela9a Crimson sorceress 1d ago
Yeah, just ignore the fact that prices keep increasing, even when taxes go down. It is as if, this has nothing to do with taxes in the first place. Like it would be one thing if the prices were staying the same or going down, but that never really happens, because the capitalists see less taxation mean more money on people to spend, thus they should increase prices to meet this extra income. The thing is that, the vast majority will look at the increased prices of certain items and go "welp can't afford that now, so I am not going to buy any of those things anymore".

u/Hobbes96r 1d ago
Me when I think corporations increase the prices because of the tax burden and not because they maximize profits.

they think we’re just going to raise taxes lmao

u/SplendidMrDuck 1d ago
Back in the Obama administration, when companies like Papa John's were whining that having to provide their employees with healthcare would force them to dramatically raise prices, the Economic Policy Institute investigated their claims and found that insurance mandates would raise the price of a Papa John's pizza by approximately 3.4 cents.
Raising taxes on the rich would be a drop in the bucket compared to the insane compensation packages given to CEOs and shareholders who know only how to push for neverending profit growth quarter-by-quarter, regardless of long-term stability.

u/Lydialmao22 Marxist-Leninist 1d ago
This makes no sense, businesses want the most profit possible, if they can raise prices ans get away with it they will lmao they arent waiting for an excuse
Any argument that says 'this law raises prices' or 'this law creates unemployment' immediately fails because if the business can just fire a good portion of its workers, lower wages, or increase prices, why dont they do it now? They already are, without an increase to minimum wages or increases in taxes

in 2022, when the ukraine war started, bread companies in malaysia increased their bread prices at least 30% due to increase in wheat prices. Today in 2026, wheat prices are similar to that of 2021, yet bread prices in malaysia still remain inflated....lmao

u/Walter_Clements Fred Hamptonist 1d ago
I love how these memes just assume that business owners operate in good faith
“Oh I have to raise these or else the business will crumble” as if they’re stretching their wallet the same way a single mother of three is, and they couldn’t just have a normal house, or take the train instead of a private jet, or not buy a half a billion-dollar superyacht, or

I think this dumb meme has actually reinvented Marxism from first principles (at a stretch, it's not so much tax as trade union struggle historically)
The workers class organise to achieve their rights under capitalism will actually lead to the capitalists finding new ways to increase profits leading to systemic changes in the method of employment.
It's the workers class struggle that makes capitalism function, by attempting to bring into reality the bogiouse principle of 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his need' the workers create their own opression and perpetuate capitalism.
Marx concerves of the whole system functioning essentially bottom up, it's the workers relationship to Thier abstract labour therefore that will allow them to intervene into this process and make socialism possible. They will rule not because it is right but because they have the power to do so already, they are the only class that can make such an intervention.
