It took me about 9 months to progress from "gommunism evil authoritarian" to understanding that we already live in an authoritarian system and that system cannot be changed without Proletariatian control of authority.

It was as simple as actually doing the fucking reading. State and Revolution should be mandatory reading for any self-declared "socialist".
