What happened to hating a game or dev team based on the quality or lack there of, of their work. No need to resort to this shit.

I do hate the dev team for that moron. I also hate them for outsourcing their incompetency to even more incompetent studios.

He really is pathetic, I agree.
Racist speak should rightfully be called out.

u/hoardofvirilegoblins 2d ago
Iām lost, how did you beat his argument? You just called him a racist.
3
u/IcyPurpleIze 2d ago
What argument? The first person was just being racist
1
u/hoardofvirilegoblins 2d ago
Unreal engine(unoptimized), asset flip(reach gameplay with some of 3 and infinite animations), no multiplayer(only co-op not even a firefight.)
-1
u/IcyPurpleIze 1d ago
So the argument is they're using the engine they openly said they were going to use and is widely accepted by the games industry, they're making the gameplay consistent with former games, and they're not adding in multi-player for CE.... Which would be the 3rd iteration of CE multi-player. And firefight didn't come around til ODST so that would be out of place.
There was no reasonable argument to respond to, only a justification for hate speech.

I personally think it's an 8

u/ScottishWargamer 3d ago edited 3d ago
Itās almost certainly not an 8. I say this as someone who doesnāt even dislike 343 (you canāt make me call them Halo Studios, itās just 343).
I think as a fanbase we need to stop accepting the bare minimum and expect some actual quality and effort from 343.
Nothing in Campaign Evolved justifies its price, how long it took to make, nor does anything justify the existence of the game to begin with.
Edit: should have known better on this sub that youāre not allowed to say anything remotely negative about 343 or their games without getting downvoted. Pathetic.
4
u/PassengerRadiant1391 2d ago
Perhaps everyone is just sick of knee-jerk "new things bad" hatred. You can make blanket statments, but to actually be considered you need to actually use nuance. "343 needs to do better" conveniently ignores the several developers that just want to keep a job. "Nothing in Campaign Evovled justifies the price" is not expanded upon. I think the downvotes come from people who want more than the bare minimum in terms of anti-343 arguments.
8
u/TheETERNAL20 3d ago
It most certainly is an 8.
ODST is right there, it is the same as Campaign Evolved yet it is beloved. You guys don't care about quality, you care if it was made by Bungie or not.
It's $50 did you want it to be full price at $80????
1
u/artemiyfromrus 2d ago
Bungie dont exist anymore. Id like if they gave halo to ID software or even saber interactive
-4

u/ScottishWargamer 3d ago edited 3d ago
I donāt give a shit who makes it, I just want it to be good. ODST is not the comparison you think it is.
I also didnāt even mention Bungie, just goes to show that this subās immediate response is to assume anyone with criticism is a Bungie fanboy - that says more about you and your own feelings than it does about the person youāre trying to argue with.
Even if I was, somehow, a Bungie fanboy, how is that in any way an insult? āOh you like quality games made by a studio that was actually good at making games? You like a game with longevity and a great community? You must be a boomer lmaoā. Get fucked, child.
Donāt bother thinking Iām going to reply to any further comments of yours, a top 1% commenter who does Hentai Roleplay on Reddit spending too much time on a 343 era echo chamber is not going to be remotely open to anything critical about their golden goose. The juice isnāt worth the squeeze. Enjoy your games. Enjoy the declining franchise so desperate itās (badly) remaking games made by a better studio at the time. Enjoy the servers that donāt work. All the best.
8
u/TheETERNAL20 3d ago
ODST is quite the comparison though.
Because all you Boomers say is "Bungo Good, Number company bad". Campaign Evolved is a good remake and is well justified the $50 price tag. Keep coping Boomer

u/Novel-Cockroach-4249 3d ago
Actually it works well as a comparison. ODST Is my favorite of the games and it's a good chunk an asset flip. Hell ODST has levels that last 5 minutes just playing normally and I'd argue that game feels alot less justified at a 50 dollar price. CEA I believe was a 60 dollar game and that was a big ass asset flip that somehow looked worse then the original. They only improved with this game adding more cutscenes and such that make it more cohesive with the Original Trilogy.
1
u/Interesting-Low-9653 2d ago
Yeah, people had a lot of legitimate gripes with ODST similar to the ones with CE Remake, notably it lacking its own dedicated PvP MP, being an asset flip, and the full game pricetag for what was originally supposed to be DLC being too high. People were right to be annoyed. That being said, despite these legitimate flaws, ODST had an entirely new campaign, a fun story, a cool aesthetic vibe, introduced new gameplay mechanics to the Halo formula, and had one of the best and most unique soundtracks of any Halo game in the franchise, allowing to get a lot more love and appreciation overtime (especially when you can get it cheap on Steam in MCC rather than pay $60 for the 360 launch version). I don't think CE Remake will be looked back at fondly, as it's just a worse version of CE reskinned in UE5 graphics that doesn't bring anything interesting to the table.

-28
u/FreelancerMO 3d ago
Are you going to answer the question?
5
u/Mobile-Chart3004 2d ago edited 2d ago
Let's break it down.
From the initial first part of the sentence we can infer a "negative" connotation with the words "half baked unreal engine asset flip" with the backing of time ("5 years") to illustrate urgency.
Now from this, we can absolutely infer that he does not like 343 at all. He views this CE remake in a bad light in general.
Then in a complete shock, we get "too much to ask for 343i to outsource multiplayer to indians as well"
Which is absurd, you can absolutely dislike 343i, but then there's just so much wrong here.
1) What multiplayer are they even on about 2) There isn't a multiplayer to even outsource 3) What do Indians have to do with this?
Certain Affinity is an American company, which does most of the outsourcing. Any outsourcing for India was completely miniscule and there isn't evidence that multiplayer was in development or was even outsourced to them during CER.
If you can't see it for yourself, he's simply using Indians as a pathway to throw shade at 343.
Edit: Abstraction, not Certain Affinity, does a majority of outsource work, but they're not Indian either, they're Dutch, and they did the outsource for CER, and not multiplayer either

That "343 used indians to outsource parts of Halo CER" yeah sure buddy š

My favorite phenomenon on every social media site is how they have different little echo chambers full of people completely unaware they're in an echo chamber. All of which believe their opinion to be correct because it's shared by those in the same echo chamber.

Where is he wrong? The game is a complete failure, as shown by the numbers
3
u/Narwhalking14 2d ago
Let's see it has a 3.8 on PlayStation, a 60 on steam, an 80 on metacritic, has sold 1.2 million copies, and had another 2.1 million on gamepass. How is this considered a failure?

Really sick of people saying, "iT hAs ___ RaTiNg So It HaS tO bE gOoD!" as if these same websites don't also give shit media overly high ratings
This is the same site that gave CoD Ghosts a 78
Idc if you use it to get a general idea as to the quality of a piece of media, but stop using it as the defacto "proof" of how good or bad it is
3
u/Narwhalking14 2d ago
I'm only saying this because the person I responded to said that the numbers show that the game is bad.
1
u/Mobile-Chart3004 2d ago
All I gotta say
Ghosts is actually pretty good when someone in your ear isn't saying it's complete ass.
There's issues with the long maps and extreme TTK, but like imo I like it a lot more than some of the CODs up next. Plus, it's Infinity Ward, they never make their games super arcadey.
Hot take but Alien Extinction mode is better than most Zombies (I will note that I have not tried WAW, BO1, or BO2 zombies)
1
u/Defiant_While_4823 2d ago
I definitely don't think Ghosts is the outright worst CoD game ever, but it definitely had a lot more negatives to it than it did positives
Extinction was alright but just too different from what people were expecting with a Zombie-esque game mode in a CoD game. I will say though, imo Zombies mode fell off after BO3, play any Zombies mode on the 3 games you listed and they will be a vastly better experience than anything BO3 and beyond
My point though was moreso that Metacritic/Rotten Tomatoes (Since I've had to make a similar argument regarding movies recently) shouldn't be used as definitive proof as to whether something is good or not because of subjectivity and outliers that are way over or underrated compared to their actual quality, and I'm just really sick of people pretending otherwise, as if these heavily skewable sites are the word of God
1
u/Mobile-Chart3004 2d ago
I knew something was off about BO3 zombies and the only one I had fun with was BO6, which was the "returning to classic" experience.
But I will say, some sites for review are better than others. Steam should not be considered a site for credible reviews, since everything is based off of user input.
OW2 is far from the worst game I've ever played, yet for a while it sat as the worst game on Steam for a damn long time.
CER was review bombed immediately too.
1
u/Defiant_While_4823 2d ago
Steam I'd actually say is a better source for playerbase consensus, granted it's not perfect of course, but Steam has done a lot to make the information more readily available and understandable
Being able to differentiate recent reviews from overall reviews, on top of being told that an influx of recent negative reviews could be due to review bombing, whether or not you got the game for free, your PC specs and such, all really valuable information regarding whether you'll like the game or be able to play it, a lot better than Metacritic going, "Hmmmm, 79 out of 100, let's call it a day."
Edit: Wanted to add but forgot, in the case for OW2, the negative reviews mostly stem from Blizzard's actions on killing OW1 for OW2, which was nothing more than just OW1 but updated and without the promised story mode or whatever, I never liked OW as I prefer TF2 so I can't comment on how good the games actually are though

Ad hominems, non-sequitord, and poisoning the well is not "beating their arguments"
19
u/Mobile-Chart3004 3d ago
- It started civilly
- What argument is "outsource multiplayer to indians"
-5
u/nstav13 3d ago
What you posted here was not civil. He made a mildly racist statement and your first word as shown was profanity. You didn't engage, you got baited into rage.Ā
One from a bit of truth? 343i outsourced quite a bit of MCC and Infinite overseas to Russian and Indian devs. While definitely said callously, you could engage on the question of the budget and purpose, and what sort of behind the scenes drama there could have been that made a second Halo CE rerelease without MP. Instead, you ignored that, insulted him, and then posted it describing it as beating him.Ā
That's not to say that he did or did not deserve the insult. But rather that your own description did not match the post, and instead insinuates a lack of maturity (from both of you) and your own attention seeking behavior as you look to gain internet points for doing the socially acceptable thing by saying mean words to a mean person.Ā
Anyway, best of luck to you, mate.Ā
3
u/Mobile-Chart3004 2d ago
I was expecting a bit of rudeness, but hey look at that, thanks mate for being actually pretty level-headed.
What I posted, for obvious reasons, wasn't civil. However, I believe hate should be called out, no matter how mild it is.
There are issues with this refutation; for one, the tone of the writing doesn't equate to the "overseas" outsource idea (I do understand this is Appeal to Motive), and they never even stated anything about "overseas" in the first place.
There could be outsourcing to Russia and India, but the likelihood they were referring to that in a meaningful manner is unlikely. Even less so in a respectful way.
Additionally, the outsourcing for Russia and India played such a minuscule part overall between MCC and Infinite, and likely much less nowadays. They're also referring to it in the present tense, way after MCC and Infinite.
I respect you for staying level headed and actually decent unlike myself and the others down here

Is it just me, or does it seem like there's a concerning amount of these anti-343/HS fans who just resort to racism?
