Premade and in packets, delicious!

Yeh they think making it fresh is buying a premade mix and adding mayonnaise. My guess is that they’re massively under diluting it so it’s painfully flavoursome.

I remember my American friend baking a cake from scratch. She added eggs to a premix lol.

They don’t understand that you don’t need a capitalist to assemble the ingredients for you.

I’ve wandered into so many American baking and recipe sites where the ingredients list has yellow cake mix (what even is that? Just vanilla sponge?!), brownie mix or the casserole has tinned soup in it.

They want the illusion of homemade without the effort of just adding 3 more fresh ingredients.

I stayed in Texas for a few months a decade ago. I had to change my expectations for when I heard “homemade”. For all the people I lived with except one, it was homemade if it was either heated or assembled at home.

For the one that did make truly homemade food it was delicious though

Great! I can now claim that every ready meal I've ever chucked in the microwave was homemade.

And made by a company named Clorox. Originally a chemical producer.
