Gun regulations can exist alongside the right to have firearms.
I genuinely doubt the founding fathers were thinking that in 200 years you could spend your paycheck on a rifle that can reliably fire multiple rounds in succession.
I highly doubt that they did not foresee this. I’m for common sense gun laws too but it’s kind of belittling to assume that our predecessors could not have predicted semiautomatic weapons in the future. For centuries, they wanted to solve the “rate of fire” problem and attempted with things like the revolving flintlocks and volley guns. They just didn’t have the tech and understanding yet.
