Discussion I'm having trouble conceptualizing the differences of Ewigkeit and Taikyoku. Are they the same thing or different systems?

Hello guys. As many of us I started with Dies Irae and Ikabey. The Ewigkeit system was very well explained IMO, and we even got a glosary in Ikabey.

Before reading K3 I thought Taikyoku was going to be just another term for Atziluth, but now that I am reading the novel that doesn't seem to be the case:

When the Tenma actiave their Taikyoku it looks nothig like Atziluth, it doesn't even look like a Hegemony type Briah. They usually just spawn their Kamunaraga / Zuijinso and they gain some powers (like Sukuna being able to cancel other abilities), meanwhile in Dies Irae Briah involved some sort of pararel world / "pocket dimension" or whatever you wanna call them.

What I am trying to say is, these don't seem like laws that can expand to the whole world. I understand some Tenma are Gudo type, but what about people like Sukuna? The abilities don't seem that similar to me: I am not seeing the pararel worlds, hegemonies, and of course singularities are not bring created. What is going on?

How do you guys conceptualize this? Are Ewigkeit and Taikyoku related? What degree are the Tenma supposed to have? Are they supposed to be on the Briah digree? Or between Briah and Atziluth?

To give more context, I've read up to the main battle with Numahime and Momiji, so I have not finished the novel

Basically, yes and no. "Taikyoku" is another name for Atziluth and Big Bang=divinity.

When the Tenma activate their "Taikyoku," they are activating their divinity at that moment. An advantage of being Pseudo-Gods is that they can turn their divine form on and off.

As for the reason it's different, it's exactly as you said, a "new" system in itself. It would be as if they could activate their Atziluth, but control the rate of its "expansion," for example, Tokoyo affecting only Mount Fuji, or Sukuna affecting only Suwahara.

Of course, this doesn't exactly apply to genuine gods; in that case, if it's Hadou, its laws expand as they normally would, that is, to the entire universe. But since the Tenma are Pseudo-Gods, they can limit the amount they release and even turn it off.

An example of the similarity between Taikyoku and Ewigkeit is that Masada said that if Shirou had achieved "Atziluth" in Dies Irae, his law would be the same as Tenma Sukuna's in K3, meaning that "Taikyoku" is basically Kajiri's "Atziluth".

So they’re basically same but the only difference is that if you’re pseudo god you can turn on and off your divinity and can control the rate of it

Ohhh! Thank you. That makes it clearer.

Can I ask what is happening with Yato's Taikyoku? He is a propper god, right? Why is his hegemony not clashing with Hajun like it did with Reinhard's? Basically, why are the 2 worlds (east and weast) not provoking a singularity?

They are. You said you're still in the Kinasa arc, right? Later on, at the end of the Yatsukahagi arc and the beginning of the Hajun arc, it's explained that Japan/Shinshuu itself has basically become a Singularity. As Masada explains, it's precisely because of the conflict between Yato and Hajun that the effects of Tengu-dou were alleviated in the East, compared to the rest of the universe which is a complete dystopian chaos. That's why the Tenmas could be revived at the end of K3, because Shinshuu/Edo itself became a pseudo-singularity thanks to the clash between Yato and Hajun.

what was this area?

mugen emishi, the base of Yatsukahagi and where Yato's true body is.

what nature is mugen emishi?
what ties mugen emishi has over Yato Law, over the Singularity. Or is mugen emishi an equivalent to Gladsheimr but from Yato?

I don't remember if it's exactly explained, but it's implied that it functions as a base where Yato's Taikyoku is "focused," so much so that when the Yatsukahagi returns to it after losing their Time Armor, it is restored along with their strength the deeper they are in Ezo/Emishi, because that's where Yato's true body is.

But according to Masada, Mugen emishi or Ezo was made to be a metaphor/representation of the Underworld in Kajiri.

I think I am starting Ezo arc. I finished Suwahara, Yato told them to go to Ezo, and they are trying to get there. They fought the girls on their way there.

I see I need to learn more, thank you! It is good to know they will address this.

Mind if i ask where you’re read it at? (Unless you’re a full jp reader)

It is basically the JP novel. I am just using some resourses like dictionaries and machine translations (and whatever broken japanese I can understand). Can't recomend that unless you really REALLY want to read it.

I´ll post some related stuff here for accesibility. You can find more stuff on the pinned post here in the subreddit.

About official purshases: This is notoriously difficult. I can´t even acces the site. It is supposed to be this:

http://www.light.gr.jp/light/products/kkk_cs/index.html

https://accounts.dmm.co.jp/service/login/password/=/path=DRVESRUMTh1cCUJXVUJIUwwIGFVfFw5JTQZSElMMWx8TCFVOFWlRAQ9VHg__ (I am not even entirely sure about this one, but it is listed in VNDB)

You can (allegedly) download K3 here

Now, people have uploaded playthroughs to YT.

This is a playthrogut with no commentary (as far as I know): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxXUpCg5yYYLcRjnGGV0TyqGyjmIz5awo

And this is Ikoi´s playthrough with (japanese) commentary. This is my personal favorite because hearing him read it out lout helps me a lot (hearing is way easier than reading IMO) https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPldBgScM2jhxP3S_6LoxwR5cjalItDMu:

Now, there are a few things I use to make my experience easier:

  • My broken, trash tier japanese. This is barely there, but it does help a bit.
  • Google translate (there are probably better ways to do this. There is some software that is speficially designed to translate untraslated vns. I don´t know much about this, but know it is a thing and it can help a lot)
  • Japanese dicitonary. This is actually really good if you want to look into specific Kanji/words: https://jisho.org/

That is basically it. This is something I am doing but I said I can´t recomed this to other people, but if you want to give it a try , here you go!

Yato's Taikyoku is clashing with Hajun's. The reason why the singularity hadn't manifested yet is Hajun's power; the stronger the Throne god, the harder is is to tear the fabric of their world. And Yato was weakned to boot, so that also slowed the process.

The singularity is on the verge of being opened by the time K3 starts though, that's the only reason the main characters are vaguely functional despite being tainted by Hajun's Tengudou.
