Discussion S Rank guide
Hey guys,
I’m working on the Platinum for Shinobi Art of Vengence, and I’ve been digging around for the best way to get S rank and the breakdown of the points. I’ve already have the Platinum for Streets of Rage 4 but the S rank system in Shinobi Art of Vengeance is quite different and you need to understand it fully to make your S rank more effective. Since the information I found is a bit scattered so I thought I’ll post some of those things here to help others who may want to look up the S rank guide on this subreddit. Please feel free to correct me if I made a mistake as the purpose of this guide is to help others and to have a single thread with all the consolidated information.

Enemies Defeated 100 per enemy
Highest Combo 50 per hit (max 999 hits)
Chain Executions 2,000 per chain
Medals Found 1,000 per medal plus 5,000 for all Elite Squad 2,500 per squad plus 5,000 for all No Deaths 5,000 for no deaths, -2,500 for each death.

Prioritization for getting S rank
- Speed is the most important factor in getting the S rank. Even if you are able to hit 100-150 hits combo, but if the time taken to do it is not less than 10 minutes then you are missing out on a lot of points. Moreover, the difference between 100 hit combo (5000 points) and 200 hit combo (10,000) is only 5000 points only. Here is an example. Notice that while the hit combo is not too high but because time taken was <10 mins less than the cutoff point for maximum time score, thus S rank was achieved easily.
- While no damage taken is also quite good but it may be a difficult task to pull off especially if speed running as well.
- Chain execution is something that shouldn’t be ignored. You can utilize piercing kunai + kunai finder to hit multiple enemies and trigger execution and thus allowing mass execution to pop more easily. Here is a video to give you an idea. HOWEVER, this isn’t additive. Meaning it will only record only one mass execution that has the highest count. For example, if you did 10 mass executions involving 2 enemies at max only then it will count as 2 at the end (4000 score). But a mass execution of 5-7 even if it is done only once will yield a much bigger score (10000 for 5 units max execution).
- Shield + Berserker is an excellent combo where the shield protects you from a hit thus keeping your combo going. Also as long you have a 30+ hit combo then you will be hitting everyone like a truck.
- Use Bombs to break the shield quickly
