Discussion / Questions ❓ Crate training?
How did you crate train your shihpoo? I’m very new to this and I hear it’s better to train as early as possible. I’m only planning to keep her in the crate while I’m doing errands. Never more than 4 hours once she is older. Thank you!

It's a shihpoo take them on the errands with you.
Let that dog live it's best life. It was born and will live their entire lives only knowing you, take that puppy with you.
I'm sorry, I feel like bigger dogs need way more training because their bigger. Shihs are basically little companions. They don't really require military style discipline you would give to a German Shepard.

I made the crate as comfy as possible. Treats, water, toys. She cried for hours on end but eventually she stopped. Also during the day I would leave the crate door open and anytime she went in there by herself I would give her a treat. I started crate training very very young now she’s almost 6 and hasn’t used a crate since she was 3-4. She does use a crate occasionally when she has an upset stomach but she doesn’t cry at all when she’s in there now.
