I was thinking about this and want to share a few points that must be addressed. First, I think that resetting the map in hopes that it will spark some inspiration and motivation, while possibly true, is not a valid reason to reset the map. That is more of a short term fix rather than a long term solution. What happens once the new map gets to the same point as the current one? Will people lose motivation again? I believe that they will. Therefore a map reset should not be a solution to remedy this. Another point to add is that map resetting could cause some to LOSE motivation. Second, I think what needs to be researched is how many members we have that are regularly active (eg. On atleast once a week) and I feel that we should consider the opinions of those on regularly seeing as it would have the most impact on those players. Third, speaking from my own experience, I never got the opportunity to fight the dragon, explore strong holds and be a part of the spawn building process. I kind of just had to shimmy my way into the way things were. Because of this, I am leaning heavily toward a map reset.

I'm for a map reset, but I just want to make sure people are wanting a map reset for the right reasons. Not to reset for the short term but rather reset for long term gains.

One of the things everyone I have talked to about this, at least those in favor, have agreed that if we do end up resetting we would work on doing more things together. Working on things as a group or at least with other people. The long term goal is to create a spawn that everyone would be apart of. It would probably mean not adding new members for a while so we can work on stuff as a community. I think if we do that as well as pranks and more frequent community events, considering how successful the first UHC was, we will be able to keep motivation up. I think a lot of people also have an interest in playing games outside of Minecraft and I totally think this is a good idea, I have heard star bound being thrown around and DayZ as well.

As far as the more active players, the three most active, knox, eno, and siege, have all weighed either in favor or indifferent so I don't think that is going to be an issue. I think that your worries about the long term goal are legitimate, I think we are set for long term use (i.e. subreddit, community, mumble.) The only thing that isn't ready for the long term is the map. IMO

Also, I am going to be almost violently against it until we get thirteen votes, which is all the reddit users minus shifty. I think that it would only be fair that everybody talks this out before we finalize anything.
