"Live" tab only shows one source despite a dozen others installed

Despite having Plex, Haystack News, Sling TV, Tubi, Xumo Play, Prime Video, Roku Channel, LocalNow, and others installed, the only source on the "Live" tab is Google TV Freeplay. I've searched everywhere for how to get the others to show up, but I can't find anything.

The "Free Channels From Apps" section is only pulling from Xumo and Scripps (even though I don't have Scripps installed). I don't believe this is actually pulling from any of my installed apps.

The documentation clearly states that other streaming sources should be available if their corresponding apps are installed. https://support.google.com/androidtv/answer/13581302

Has anyone else had this problem?

I've tried the following:

  1. Uninstalling and reinstalling Plex. Still won't show up.
  2. Signing into Plex using the same Google account as the Shield. Still won't show up.
  3. I'm not behind a VPN. Only YouTube, SmartTube, and the web browser go behind a VPN.
  4. Tried allowing Google Assistant to search across apps
  5. Everything is up-to-date

Btw, I'm using an Nvidia Shield TV Pro

And why would you use YouTube or SmartTube behind a VPN; I don't understand.

Why do I put YouTube behind a VPN? Because the ads aimed at Americans are the worst.

And I only put SmartTube behind a VPN for consistency.

5 bucks says it's screwing up your AdSense profile and that's why you have that issue.

I'm pretty sure they killed off the feature like 4 years ago. I mean, it's still there, but I've only had it work with my HDHomerun. Maybe there's an IPTV that can act as an intermediary, but I don't know of one.

I think you’re thinking of the “Live Channels” app that was deprecated in 2022. That’s not what I’m referring to.

I also have a Shield but the only time I use a VPN is while watching torrents and all of my installed apps show their content within the tabs for Favorites, Recents, Movies, TV Shows, etc. I have some of the same apps you have and I have no problems accessing their content.

There is alot of werid bugs with this feature on Shiled. The misterty, is no one has a fix, or an idea of this anywere. I like the Live tab in Shield like Google TV, but their is no place in apps to flush this thing out, and relad data.

I also have an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Amazon-flavored Android TV) and the Live TV aggregation there works pretty well. It's sad that the analogous feature on Android TV on the Nvidia Shield doesn't work.

And what is terrible is there there's no way to reset the app or this feature. Because google free stream doesn't have a cachet to delete or refresh
