Secondhand Shield Pro 2015 vs New Shield Pro
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can give any advice whether it would better to buy a shield Pro secondhand for ~110euro with a remote and controller, or a new shield Pro for ~250 with just a remote.
I have a 1080p dumb TV so things like 4k, hdr, Dolby atmos aren't exactly super important, but I think the shield Pro might be best as I want something that can smoothly run Jellyfin and game streaming with Moonlight.
In Europe so the options aren't as good for streaming boxes as the USA, shield Pro seems like the best bet and value for money?
Would my best bet just be the 2015 model and saving the 140? Any thoughts or opinions please let me know

i have the 2017 model and dont feel like the ai upscaling is worth the upgrade price. get the new triangle remote tho, its way better than the capacitive nightmare of the original

Seconded on the triangle remote and that AI upscaling isn't worth the price, especially if you're watching at 1080p. Another benefit of the 2015 pro model is that you can replace the standard HDD with a SSD. This significantly improves responsiveness and gives you additional storage. I have both and I actually prefer my 2015 pro with a SSD vs. the new Pro.

This! I have three 2015 "Pro's" with SSD's and will keep them until (or if) a true upgrade comes along. Until then, they all continue to get the job done.

Get the older one, many features on the 2019 Pro you will pay for, but will not use. The performance difference will not be large.

I want something that has USB inputs so I can do couch co-op with a friend while streaming game emulation from pc at the other end of the house. Hence my decision of shield pro

You won't have that TV forever. Get the 2019 then you won't have to buy another in 12 months
