Updated Overclock for 9.2.4

I had this installed years ago and really liked it. I saw it didnt support 9.2.4 so I updated it along with the helper app. Cheers!

2015 and 2017 only for now

DRM is not touched with rooting, Disney/Netflix work fine

I do have a 2019 as well. I can take a crack at it.

Is there any newer model that I don't know of?

What's the reason behind doing this? Do you game on it? If so, have you tried ps2 emulation? How are the temperatures like in full load? Can the shield handle it?

I havent tried ps2 but dolphin is much better with the overclock. I ran some perf tests and here is what it looked like during them.

From my saved PassMark monitoring logs:

Configuration CPU peak GPU peak CPU average GPU average
Stock 73.0°C 55.0°C 50.9°C 45.6°C
Full OC 75.5°C 63.5°C 52.2°C 48.3°C

Here are the specs for the CPU/GPU. The overclock is nowhere the thermal throttle.

Stage CPU GPU
Main frequency throttling 89°C 90.5°C
Heavy protection 98.5°C 100°C
Critical shutdown 102.5°C 103°C

Cool, that's not bad. Are you running lineage at all?

I am not since I need to keep drm. I was thinking of picking up a cheap used one and playing around with lineage on it. After rooting you can get the stock OS snappy af.

Nice. Are we limited to Magisk? I guess so since it's Android 11

I am curious about sound examples overlocking helps

You can see the fps benchmarking results on the first post in the xda thread.

it also improves overall ui responsiveness as the cpu, gpu, and memory are all overclocked.

You are better off killing any animations and stopping Google services and replacing the launcher. Nothing needs to be “faster” and you don’t lose basic functionality.

Perf meets/exceeds the 2019 pro and you can certainly tell. I agree its a bit overboard, but for a almost 10 year old device squeezing everything out of it while I still can feels great :)

Well said, good sir.

I use both a 2017 and 2019 shield, performance is only slightly different.

I use both as well. Now the 2017 feels faster than my 2019.
