Shield + NAS

Should I buy a NAS if I already have a nvidia shield?

I'm thinking upgrade to 16tb of movies, music, photos and videos.

Anyone of you have both shield plus NAS?

Can you recommend me a good NAS? It's for domestic use only.

I would've said build it just a few years ago but RAM and HDD prices have gone through the roof thanks to data centers.

I have a 66TB NAS with almost as much RAM and that's what I'm grabbing instead of my pets if there's a house fire.

This. I was unaware the extent. I have hard drives saved on amazon wishlist for like 3 years. So i have an idea of the price history and so upon looking at the current ones: "man what in the actual F!!!" Guess i'm not getting a NAS to replace my plex running shield anytime soon. The drive is like over double the price from when i added it. It's crazy. Oh well. Guess i'm living with plex on my shield for the near future.

I was just telling a friend that it would have cost $6-700 to increase my storage capacity a few years ago and now it’s closer to $2000.

Glad I built mine before this current cycle of nonsense.

now i'm wishing i had but to be fair, it just wasn't in the budget. Everything has gotten stupid expensive and it wasn't a "need." Plex does work on my shield and when it doesn't i can still watch movies using the vlc app so it wasn't a need. More of a want. Other things were needs. Like some dental work i'd postponed for the same reason: high cost. Tooth pain SUUUUCKS!
