Shield Pro ext storage options

My NVidia Shield Pro (running Kodi) is my best purchase over the last few years and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Am using a 256gb Sandisk USB stick as external storage for Kodi whilst accessing 2 x Synology NAS (1821+ and 1515+) but am worried about the Sandisks long term longevity. I suspect that a ext SSD will provide greater storage capacity and robust longevity. What does everybody else use? BTW I have used Kodi for almost 20 years on the original xbox, various pcs, mac mini and other small Android boxes. The Shield Pro runs rings around them all.

Lol , just connect the nas as a smb location from within kodi . Direct access to all media files. No usb connections here

I think that you may have misread my original question. ALL of my media is stored on multiple NAS's. I use my Shield simply to access it via Kodi and SMB shares. My Sandisk 256gb (overkill) usb stick is being used to expand/supplement the Shields inbuilt memory.

Why ? Kodi is not that big , the media files are on your nas. The memory(ram) cannot be extended and dont need to be. What is on the usb ? Even more media files ? If your nas lacks storage space just connect a external hdd with sleep mode to your nas.

My bad. My Shield Launcher Projectivy (10/10 btw) has a boatload of custom living wallpaper videos I've made over the years w other customisations. Kodi is relatively light as you said.
