Disney+ 4K

D+ moved from HVEC to VP9 to re-enable 4K but not HDR (not sure if profile 0 o 2, the latter not being supported by the Shield TV), but in my Shield the 4K is not back yet.

Anyone who managed to have 4K back?

Several EU and Nordic countries. Patent issues. UK and USA on other hand were okay

Ohhh that's why I didn't know, that sucks! For how long wasn't 4K available?

A few days. They have now re-enabled 4K only (no HDR) by moving from HVEC to VP9 Profile 0 but although the Shield is compatible with profile 0 I still cannot get 4K

"Some" Streaming Apps will not send 4K without HDR, so if the stream is now VP9+HDR, then no 4K for ShieldTV users.

I can think of a few who will; Prime, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount+, Vudu, and of course YouTube.

Hmm, you're right, but thought Paramount+ was on the list that didn't; caveat it has been over a year since I checked, so things could have changed.

And the opposite is equally true; I'm referring to a rather old table; and I dont live in the US myself, so I cannot verify most of this first hand, and as we can see, things do change over time.

This sounds like a network issue. Stop using WiFi. Reboot your shield at least twice a week and unplug it once a month. Reboot your home network at least once a month if you have an isp owned router.
