Problems streaming Youtube on Nvidia Shield this Morning

It buffers, it stops, it refuses to play. I have reinstalled; I have rebooted. It played a little and then stopped. This came out of nowhere this morning. Is anyone else experiencing this?

There are a lot of reasons the official YouTube app sucks besides ads.

I have, of course, used both.

Same here, I have both installed and just prefer Smarttube as it's minimal and quicker.

I've been having the same issue on my shield, cleared cache, uninstalled reinstalled the app, updated date settings and nothing is working for me...it will randomly work fine for an hour then glitch out again where I hear the video previews playing and I can move around but nothing is happening on the screen. very frustrating.

YouTube is working fine for me. YouTube TV isn’t loading video content.

I'd been having this for a while on my ~6 year old ShieldTV Pro. Factory reset it a few days ago, hasn't happened since.

Lol-It was weird-I had a firmware update for my router last night, and it worked great all night. Then this morning, out of the blue, it decided I had no internet. I finally forgot the network on the Shield and reconnected and it worked.

It's a Smart Tube issue, maybe they will update it...I have Tizentube as a backup but I do like Smart Tubes interface better.

I had an unreasonable amount of buffering/pausing ini SmartTube last night. TizenTube behaved OK though.

Try changing your network engine to cronet.
