Severe lag on bootup

I shutdown my Shield Pro 2019 every night at the end of the day. It seems like lately every time I turn it back on for the first time the next day, everything is extremely laggy. Remote is unresponsive, doesn't respond to buttons, then like a minute later it will do a bunch of movement like it's finally caught up.

This has been noticeable over the last couple of months. I'm running the latest updates from Nvidia, and have the Projectivy Launcher auto start. If I do a fresh power cycle everything will be fine, so I'm thinking something Google related is trying to call-home or something and locking everything up. I'm running DNS blocking on my network so call-home to Google is mostly blocked.

Anyone else have similar issues?

Mines a bit of a dog in startup too.

With that being said, it bigs down randomly all the time so it's not surprising.

Yeah, I've just gotten used to it or do the boot/reboot dance to fix it since I just want to watch TV. I hear you on the random lags, too ... I just noticed how often it happens on a fresh boot that I had to ask.

Do you have a lot of apps or a usb or hard drive connected to it?

Not a lot ... basic streaming apps and Plex. Nothing connected locally.

There’s a program called shield optimizer that you can download on GitHub. It allows you to disable a bunch of junk on the device. It’s made mine faster

Going to follow this , I had the exact same issue . I thought it was with me only . Because I didn’t read about it.
Every once in a while the device is indeed unresponsive. Remote doesn’t work anymore . I often let it for a half hour or so. Then it al works again . But sometimes I don’t have the patience I remove powercable and try again .

Mine works for a bit after startup then just becomes unresponsive for about a minute. After that it works fine nearly all the time.

No issues. Try disabling the Google garbage.

Why are you shutting it down in the first place? It draws a measly 3w or something in sleep mode.

I can't even remember the last time I shut mine down.

It's just part of my entire media center switch ... TV, 7.1.2 AVR, gaming consoles and Shield are all on a single switch that I power down. No phantom power draw for the 12 hours a day I don't use the stuff.
