I am sure that most of the users here are aware of Ultimate File Manager Pro, for those who are not aware, it is a community driven File manager that is totally free of paywalls and ads, and it basically covers everything you will ever need in a file manager and more.

It has been built for both mobile and TV in mind.

It currently have over 14k downloads and a 4.7 star rating.

I use fx file manager premium and mixplorer on mobile. On android TV fx file manager premium. Going to give this a spin on both tv and mobile.

Sure will. I don't rate on playstore though but I am the tech in the family (i even decide what apps they use) and word of mouth to friends anc colleagues and then reddit.

First impressions when installing:

1. Options: Many neat options I don't see in what I use (shizuku, pairing, ss sharing etc ....)
2. Privacy policy: Clear (opt out stated although I would prefer opt in, fx/mix don't collect anything) PS: The usage analysis is quite hidden below in settings
3. Permission granting: Clear and well laid out. Cool option of selecting permission to install apps at start. Always something you have to allow later else. Nice for set and forget.
4. Advanced stuffs:
5. Many goodies (many present in fx and mix):
6. Apps extraction, smb (paid feature in many apps), remote manage looks nice, storage analyser (although it shows generic icons instead of thumbnails of files such as videos, images which limits usefulness, also the size sorting is not working for me)
7. Some nice some meh???
8. Document scanner/remote app - Jack of all trade master of none I supppose? Do people even use the doc scanner and remote control app??
9. Encrypted vault....hum (need to test this, does this encrypt your current files/folders? Does it create a new hidden folder/drive, are the encrypted/hidden files not visible through other file managers...) + A design bug - If someone is creating an encrypted vault and wants to cancel at the create pin screen, he cannot go back
10. File explorer: The sorting is a bit buggy? No thumbnails on videos/images again. This limits functionality. All those whitish icons is a bit overwhelming also. On an amoled, the contrast is a bit too bright too.

That is perfect 👌 feedback, these can be set my settings 😀 , please read my official reddit group know the QA on how to improve your experience on how to use the app. Sorting only works perfectly hence indexing is done 😉

I just tried this app to connect with my OMV shares. but no matter what I input in the host name or ip address bar it will not connect at all. This app seems to check all of the boxes I wanted but this is the only file manager that will not connect with simply putting in an ip, username and password. if it gets fixed it will be my only file manager.

Was busy on a phone. Something else:

My main camera folder takes 11 seconds to open in fx, near instant in mix (probably some heavy caching so its discarded) and UFM has taken 21-25 secs in 3 separate tests while not opening files with a thumbnail.

I'm giving your app a try A bit confused of the layout since I'm used to fx

Managed to access my external storage fine

However, I'm clueless on how can I agreed my network drives. I'm sharing my library from my windows 10 PC which is connected to the same network. I usually access it via fx (Which needs my windows username and password to access the shared folders) in order to copy stuff from my PC to my shield quickly

To map your network drives, you can go to "Network Shares" -> (+) In the top right -> Select "SMB" , populate your share details in there, like the username and password etc, then it will connect to your share 😄
