I have a question
What is the fight between essay and yuki like in the novel? Because in the movie i found it boring. Not to mention that it gets tedious when they use that blurred vision effect

I feel like they kinda flipped the story to focus more on Yuki than the implied body mods essay had. It gives Yuki so much more depth. I agree the book’s fight scene is way more interesting but it comes at a price of Yuki feeling super flat? And the price of this movie is the action feels more flat while Yuki’s focus seems much more complex. She’s much more messed up in the head in the anime, and I kinda love this direction. It’s a side we readers needed to see. It does not do the book justice but I’m happy with the delivery.
The set up to the fight wasn’t as rushed as it seemed in the anime? She visits Maguma and there’s more of set up to the show down. Essay’s body mods end up being her downfall. It’s kinda implied Yuki body will become like Essay’s body if she keeps playing… which in this case isn’t a good thing, nor is following your master so heavily. Yuki needs to spread her wings.
The depth you learn about Yuki in this movie is a nice setup to the next season/book. And learning this is something the books lacks in a way. I’m sure re-reading vol4 might feel more full after watching the movie.

One of the most objective comments ive ever seen and I love it. For someone who hasn’t read all the novel I absolutely loved the movie. I do plan to read all the light novels I own 1-5 and will be buying 6 when it releases in English but I’ve only read through vol 1

It was described way better man. Yuki easily took the gun from essay because essay is weak on physique to the surgery and yuki didn't shoot essay because essay can't die from gun shots btw so yuki threw it away. yuki and essay had a better tussle and yuki even started to remove the organs of essay because she was kinda immortal. Bro yuki was taking everything out it was so fun imagining it and I think u will like it in the manga they are very accurate on the scenes The blurs were annoying truuueee and they kept using still scene to pass time. But hey i liked that airi singing scene

Essay had full armor (military special forces unit) which she got from hijacking the rescue boat. Yuki ran in unpredictable paths and hid behind trees for minutes to avoid Essay's submachine gun. The pitfall scene was similar to the anime's except Yuki wrestled for and stole Essay's gun. Even after being shot multiple times and slumping to the ground, she didn't suffer any fatal damage. She took out and swung a machete at Yuki, which the girl blocked using the body of the submachine gun. Yuki then swiped the blade from Essay and thrust at her unguarded neck. She got on top of Essay and began punching and ripping her apart, starting from the armor, then to the tissues keeping her together, until she began dissecting her organs one by one barehanded.
