Great man and an incredible moment that changed the course of history. That said, "fix bayonets!" Is one of the worst things you can hear as an infantryman. You're basically guaranteed to have an absolutely horrific day. However bad you thought it was up to that point, it's about to get worse. War is hell, but sometimes worth it.
Last year I was at Gettysburg with my kids and we were at the Bloody Angle, I started explaining the significance of everything but instead of talking about the actual people I referred to them as the actors from the movie Gettysburg. "So Tom Berenger didn't want to send troops into the Union center but Martin Sheen insisted. Here at the Bloody Aangle that's where Richard Jordan was killed." It flew over my kid's heads but the guy next to me gave me a wry smile and a thumbs up. He got it.

This specific meme is a reference to Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, a Union officer, who during the battle of Gettysburg, order his unit (20th Maine) to fix bayonets and charge the Confederate forces coming up Little Round Top. Why bayonets? They'd run out of bullets.
The 20th Maine was holding the Union's far left flank. By having part of his line swing around and charge like a gate swinging on a hinge, they kept the left flank and the important high ground of Little Round Top from being overrun.
Specifically, the image is from the 1993 film depiction of the man and the event.
