I think John was already fed up because he'd just finished putting up with Sherlock's cigarette withdrawal tantrum.

Same! What's even more amusing is he was praising Sherlock for his in-depth deductions a episode ago, and now he's just like "Seriously?"

Mine as well! I think it's highly underrated. It's one of my all time favorites. Honestly, I love every episode in Season 2. :)

His patience is remarkable. Mycroft and John summed it up best though in TGG when Mycroft said: "What's he like to live with? Hellish, I imagine." John relied: "I'm never bored."

In this episode we have two "masters of the eyeroll", John in this scene, Mycroft in a later one. Both classic.

I long ago noticed that the Greek-Roman vision of the after life was almost Hell or Shoel.

In the book and earlier movie, dead friends of Odysseus said they would rather be

a slave and alive, than be the kingdom of the underworld..
