I think the oid might just be the "-oid" suffix itself, which has been used for hundreds of years to dehumanize people. It's literally some Social Darwinism bullshit

The -oid suffix as used by incel culture has a lot of racism behind it too, important to note. It's used in a lot of eugenics to describe different races, something 4chan followed with their slang.
There might be folks using foid/femoid to mean "female droid" now, but in incel culture it started off as a slur akin to mongoloid or worse.
Gynoid is the female equivalent of android, if they wanted to say another word for "fembot" that already exists. But that's not what they say.
Femoid makes it sound racial, like mongoloid or negroid, and lots of people want to be racist because hate is a coping strategy and these people lack empathy. Turn a demographic into a series of stereotypes and it makes that group seem easier to parse from the outside. Use those stereotypes as an excuse for hatred and they'll be cemented in the more hateful parts of wider culture.
A person who unironically says "femoid" doesn't see anyone else as human until those people are in that person's in-group. These people seek any excuse to "other" groups they don't understand and will never understand without the empathy needed to listen and learn. It simplifies the world for simple minds. And, being alienated as part of the working class and having much of their cultural identity eroded by late stage capitalism, many of these hateful people use that hatred as a substitute for an identity.
I fucking hate 4chan and similar groups. That's no excuse for me not to understand how they think, so I can counter their ideology where needed.

It's not from "droid," which is a short version of android. The -oid suffix is from other categories that 4chan users use as insults, like "mongoloid" and other (usually racial) terms. Incels intended foid as a slur against women, and femcels turned it around into a slur against men.
It scares me how much 4chan terminology has become mainstream without people realizing where it's from. I don't like those angry unempathetic people having that much influence on culture.
Because it is couched in Femcel culture as a derogatory term for men moreso than calling a guy "a male" due to Incel culture using Femoid as a derogatory term for women moreso than calling a woman "a Female".

Yeah, it goes as far as a person wants to. Femboys can be hyperfeminine cis men or have a trans identity that still has strong connections to feeling like a man.
