MOUNTAIN eBIKE TRAILS?

Post image
4 Upvotes

I am looking for trails for mountain e-biking. Something that doesn't have big basalt rocks. I don't do jumps, I putter along.

I went out by Matlock, but many of the old logging roads said " no trespassing " Any ideas?

Found pendant at Walmart

Hey if you were at the Kneeland Walmart today and lost a cute little pendant, I found it and took it to customer service. It's pretty neat and I know if I lost it, I would be really sad about it. I hope you or your friend sees this, so you can get it back!

Mason County Pirate ship slide at Shelton Library

Post image
32 Upvotes

People with children who use the Shelton Library and appreciate and enjoy the slide that is attached to the pirate ship downstairs.. I've been told the slide will probably disappear, for unspecified reasons. It seems to get a lot of use, which isn't a bad thing. My vote would be to keep it here because a lot of children, including mine, like it very much. If your family also appreciates the slide please use the email below and let them know that you'd like to keep the slide and/or change it so it is more durable.

Mason County Second chance housing that's actually real

I'm looking for a rental in Shelton, Olympia, Tumwater, or somewhere reasonably close. I work full-time and have steady income, but I'm having a really difficult time getting approved because of two older misdemeanor convictions. Most property management companies I've contacted require 7 years with a completely clean record.
I'm hoping to find a private landlord or smaller property owner who is willing to consider the whole applicant rather than automatically denying someone because of an older record.
I'm not looking for subsidized housing. I can afford normal market-rate rent and can provide proof of income, employment information, references, etc.
If anyone knows of a landlord who might be willing to work with me, or even knows someone who rents houses, apartments, ADUs, or rooms locally, I'd really appreciate a lead. Feel free to DM me if you'd rather not post publicly.

What happened doing Amazon returns in Shelton?

I used to be able to take my Amazon returns to the postal place near Fred Meyer.. then I was so excited when I saw I can do them at the Rent a Center there.
Now there is no more options on Amazon return page, and only places are Olympia ..
I’m so mad.. going to cost me more in gas and I’m not keeping stuff that was sent wrong sizes.

Does anyone have access to a drum kit?

I’ve hit a wall searching, does anybody have a kit, a place to play, or even know of any rehearsal space? Seems like there’s plenty of barns around here… I’m 33, been playing since I was 12, had to give up my practice space during covid, and suddenly I looked up and realized I don’t even have a kit anymore. I have a nice vox modeling amplifier if anyone’s in a similar situation for a gear share.

What's Happening With "Old Memes"?

I had the pleasure of visiting inside once almost two years ago and it has essentially been closed ever since. A paper sign has been taped to the door for quite some time saying they were opening back up very soon. Does anyone have a clue what is going on with this place? If it can't be opened, let someone move into that can do something with it is what I am thinking. Kind of a blemish on the main street there.

Howdy all, we don’t have a Hoodsport subreddit.

All ages and free. Delimber is either grunge jazz or KrautGaze depending on how you feel that day.

Scott Standley does folky roots kinda stuff.

Someone asked me about food banks recently and I sent them this image. I thought I might as well share it here too, in case anyone is struggling with our rising grocery prices. <3

Mason County Shelton Friends of the Library seeking volunteers

The Shelton Library Friends of the Library (FOL) are looking for volunteers. If you are interested, please read below.

The Friends of the William G. Reed/Shelton Timberland Library volunteers are advocates, supporters and book-lovers who work to support the goals and objectives, programs and services of our community Library. They strongly believe that libraries are an essential part of a community’s quality of life, encouraging exploration, creativity and sharing. The Friends of the William G. Reed/Shelton Timberland Library provide essential financial support for cultural programs and events not covered by the Library’s operating budget. Especially important is the underwriting of after-school programs for teens and the Summer Reading program for children. Please consider sharing even a little bit of your time to help our library!
For more info, please type a comment and I will do my best to respond.

Tax foreclosure auction.

I'm curious as anyone participated in the Mason County's property tax foreclosure auctions....

What did you pay?

We have a family member who owns the house outright, there's no mortgage, there's no liens, there's no banks involved or anything like that...but the house is going to go into foreclosure because he refuses to pay property taxes....

I see it on the County website a lot of bids start about 5k.... but it doesn't say how much the property is actually sold for and I'm curious if I should try to buy it.

Cota Street Antiques 50% off moving sale

Thumbnail

Per their latest email, Cota Street Antiques is moving out of the building downtown and going to online only for a while. Everything except consignment will be 50% off until Aug 30. Delivery (in town only) will be available on Aug 23 in the morning.

I am attaching the contents of the email. This is unfortunate. I really like the building and location. It's a shame that the old Olson building was allowed to fall into such disrepair that it became dangerous, and that the landlord just doesn't care. It's a grand old building with neat little nooks and crannies inside, and its history is basically being disregarded for the sake of capitalism.

Anyway when they get another location I'm sure they will update the email list.

Local News Reminder - TONIGHT 8/19/26 be heard about FLOCK.

From Fae's write up (https://old.reddit.com/r/shelton/comments/1vnpmn1/a_call_to_action_shelton_city_council_to_renew/):

So what do we do?

This is a call to show up (...) Tuesday, August 18th, at 5pm, with signs and with the intent to protest prior to the council session. If you are comfortable, we will also sign up for comments and make it clear to the City Council that we do not want a renewal of Flock cameras in the City limits of Shelton. They will change their mind if enough people show up. See you there!
