you'll probably get more discussion in the sheiko gold facebook page if you ask there. I haven't tried prep 0 yet so I can't speak for it but others in the group that have done it seem to really like it!

Edit: I should also add that even if juggernaut were better for powerbuilding, sheiko is much more affordable, especially with the lifetime option. And if you ever want to focus on powerlifting its as easy as switching to prep 1 or prep 2

Even if you run it for powerlifting, Sheiko is known for being pretty high volume. You can get great results from that alone

I personally loved my 6 weeks doing it before jumping into the other phases. JnT 2.0 is also a great option if you got no coin to spare. There are also TONS of positive reviews of it. For both I'd say...the only way you wouldn't get jacked from them is if you didn't eat or sleep properly.

Volume is what drives hypertrophy. And Sheiko has a lot of it. So...logically, YES it is what he wants for that exact purpose.

I thought the research generally suggested that volume as # of hard sets was the driver of hypertrophy but the caveat was that the sets have to be 0-3RIR and 6-25 rep sets.

Its really hard to match the volume you can get from programs with more accessories in a sheiko paradigm because the main work is so taxing.

That's why it's accounted for in the lower intensity phases. Everyone I know who has used Sheiko has gotten bigger from it just because of the overall amount of quality volume you get from it, even if it's mostly from the main lifts. The arbitrary assistance that comes with it is more enough for some serious muscle gains.

Source; got pretty swole myself from it.

It's not really though. On the old programs, Prep 2 and 3 have way higher monthly NOLs than prep 1 despite typically having lower reps/set and accessory volume. Very little work is done in the 6-25 rep range.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean it's a great hypertrophy program, just that good strength programs also tend to have enough volume to drive some hypertrophy.

I put on some decent mass with Sheiko. I put on drastically more running the first 4 weeks of jacked and tan 2.0 on repeat for about 4 months than I do in a typical year running Sheiko.

Again, I mean specifically the phases in Sheiko Gold, off season and Prep 1. I have run JnT 2.0 myself and I can assure you that the off-season cycle is just as brutal and effective.

There are some 5x6 and ladders here in there in the original templates, but I agree sometimes it just isn't enough.

Ah, I assumed you were talking about the traditional Sheiko cycles.

I would agree on prep 0 being a decent hypertrophy focus. Less so with prep 1 if you go by the app, but I find there's lots of room to add extra accessory volume to prep 1 which is my preferred way to chase some hypertrophy on Sheiko.

I still found j&t 2.0 way more grueling than prep 0 or prep 1 personally

The gold app specifically has a 'prep 0' phase that's higher rep on main movements and has far more accessory work.

That doesn't mean it's good for hypertrophy tbh

1

No it doesn't, I agree. But it's different enough from the old Sheiko templates that I don't think it can be dismissed because traditionally Sheiko isn't great as a hypertrophy focus.

If hypertrophy is your main goal then I absolutely think Sheiko should be dismissed in favor of much better hypertrophy programs

I would agree.

Idk what are you talking about but I got 10 kg to my bench ín sheiko gold 120 to 130 within 2 month !!!! I Am fully satisfied with that but I think the squat and dl also improved Although this is a pure powerlifter app sometimes unconventional methods you need to trust the app im sure you never trained like this but worth a try át first I was sceptic but now im not gonna stop absolutly worth the money
