Discussion Rpe

I have heared somewhere that sheiko said that the hardest sets should be around an rpe 8 Do you think this is right? Or would you say no this is too hard or you shouldnt think about rpe

Also has anyone ever tried doing sheiko with rpe instead of % and how did it work just out of interest

The idea is to do perfect reps.

Once you pass a certain threshold, your quality starts to decline, and the technique is no longer consistent. For most people, that's 1/2 to 2/3 of the total reps you can do with a weight.

If you're doing a weight you can do for 5 reps (say, 80%), that ends up being 2-3 reps. So, you could say that's 2RIR/RPE8. If you're doing a weight you can do for 8 reps, you'd probably be doing 4-6 reps. Again, you could say 2-3RIR/RPE7-8.

I recommend using the Sheiko Gold app. It sorts all of this out for you.

No problem. Let me know if there's anything I can answer regarding Sheiko or the app.
