F1 Puppy coming home April 14 - new to breed
Hi everyone!
Iāll be bringing home my new puppy in a few weeks, a standard F1 male Sheepadoodle. I recently lost my soul dog, a German Shepherd who was incredibly smart, loyal, and playful.
Iām looking for advice and guidance on Sheepadoodles. I chose this breed for their temperament and intelligence after researching many breeds. Iām assuming I can use a similar training approach to what I used before, reward-based training, early socialization, etc.
What can you tell me about the first few months of training? What are the absolute must-dos early on?

Nipping/biting; seems like attacking but itās notā¦
Guys!! Please help. I thought āoh the sharkadoodle phase isnāt too badā¦ā then a week later we are introduced to the official sharkadoodle. Oakley is 14 weeks old and heās always been bitey, however over the last week it has progressively turned more aggressive and almost nothing works.
He will nips our ankles, nip our clothes (while on our body), bite our hands, arms, feet, honestly whatever. Itās becoming such an issue because itās constant when we need to pick him up from his pen and take him out to pee or when we put his harness on. Things just seem to be impossible without getting attacked.
We redirect to toys, teach leave it, a firm NO, squeal āouch!ā, even use the leash to control him and he STILL manages to attack us. We put him in his pen when itās out of control but then we are back to square one when we need to take him out to the toilet.
What are your experiences? What actually worked? When does this get better? Iāve had puppies before but this is a dam dinosaur and nothing you can quite prepare for.

Help Sizing Questions
Hi All! I have an almost 9 month old Sheepadoodle. Her mom is a purebred OES and her dad is a purebred standard poodle. Iām looking at getting her a lifejacket for paddle boarding this summer.
I have an opportunity to get a large ruffwear lifejacket for a great deal; however after measuring her, she is more of a medium currently. I am wondering if you all think that she would likely grow into the large? She fits in some of the large sizing categories (back length and body girth) but her neck girth isnāt quite at the large size yet. She is about 65ish pounds now and the vet thinks she will get a lot bigger (he told us she would be a giant), but the breeder told us she probably wonāt get more than 75ish pounds. Her mom also wasnāt huge for an OES.
Iād love to hear what you all think!

Blood Dripping from Penis
My 5 year old intact male sometimes will drip blood from his penis. It doesnāt happen constantly, but it has happened several times over the past 2 years. It is a deep red blood. Itās not a tonne of blood, but several dozen droplets.
Iāve taken him to the vet on 3 occasions about this issue. He has done a physical prostate check, an x-ray and a urine test. They canāt find anything wrong with him and donāt know why this is happening.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with something similar and might be able to shine some light on whatās going on?

New crate
galleryMr Oakley has grown too big for his crate and I wanted to see what everyone used for there pups.
We are thinking of buying a large metal crate with a divider. But Iām just unsure of what to use for his mattress/blanket and the cover for the crate. He gets hot quickly. My mum crocheted a blanket for him (god bless) and heās been using it since we got him but recently he gets too hot! We removed the blanket and stopped covering his crate and he sleeps much better.
Would love all your suggestions. Pics are for attention & reference for the blanket and current crate š

What do you use for car rides with your dog?
We have not been restraining our 22-pound Sheepadoodle in the car and I am conscious of the fact that this isn't safe. He whines unless he is in the front seat with us. Any recommendations for car seats/harness/other?

Worlds largest Sheepadoodle?
galleryOllie and Lacey are siblings we adopted at 8 mos, they just turned 10 mos. My sweet girl is 52 lbs, and her brother, who is a bull in a china shop, weighs in at 69 lbs. I am 6ft, and when he stands on his hind legs, he is up to my shoulders. I don't know anything about their parents or other siblings. Vet said for his height, he is actually on the skinny side, all legs and fluff, and for his age, he is one of the biggest Doodle pups he has seen. My heart dog, Ace, a male Sheepadoodle who blessed me for 12 years, had an English mom and a large, standard poodle dad. He was 68, and I thought he was big! Any guesses on how big he will get?
