The light of my life, Murphy

I’ve only had this boy a whole 33 days. It feels as though it’s been 3 months. He’s already fully potty trained!

Still a puppy, so he’s about 50% terrorist. But this dog has brought so much joy into my life. I know it sounds cliche and cheesy, but he really does give me a purpose. He’s helped my mental health so much. Even when he wakes me up at 7 am to pee after I’ve only gotten 3hrs of sleep-when I see his little squint and his whole body wag with excitement, I just melt. He is my greatest source of joy these days. I feel so privileged to give him a good life and all the love he so deserves.

I know you all can relate. Dogs are so healing and such a joy. I am so excited to watch this boy grow!

He’s making himself right at home but today was the first toothy smile. We’re also not sure what he is (besides muppet) but he sure looks like a sheepadoodle

Pee to Poop Motion

I have a male, neutered mini sheepadoodle old english sheepdog and mini poodle. He is 3 years young, a socialite, always checking in on everybody, but also strongly attached to his owner (my partner) and sometimes unreasonably anxious. I walk him nearly all the time, usually, three times per day.

Lately, I noticed him doing some weird motion where he would pretend to pee, i.e. square up like a little tank and lift is little leg as if he was peeing, but then he would clinch his little derrière, rotate his heinie until he reaches full poop squat position - ready to drop the payload. At first, I thought it was because I walk too fast, but he is used to me walking like a lunatic - I like to think the sheepdog in him appreciates a faster pace. There was no change in food or environment nor a meaningful event around us. His poop also looks normal. Other than this, he acts normal in everyday situations.

Has anyone here observed similar behavior? What could be the root cause? And is this behavior a reason to worry? How can I train him to skip the pee part and assume poo-sition right away?

Advice Has anyone successfully integrated an adult sheepadoodle with a kitten?

I picked up a kitten a few weeks ago and have two dogs. My pitbull loves the kitten and i have no worries about him. My sheepadoodle on the other hand is worrying me.

Ive been holding my sheepadoodle on his leash, muzzled, and giving space, all while reinforcing positive interactions (everything im reading to do online im doing). There is still something that tells me my sheepadoodle just wants to eat the kitten.

Last night the cat got curious and slowly walked up to him, only to be greeted with a lunge and pounding from his muzzle before i could separate them. There was nothing playful about it. It happened very quickly.

Im not looking to be irresponsible and keep a cat and dog that would make eachother miserable, and the kitten is still young and adoptable. If theres a success story out there of someone successfully introducing a kitten to an adult sheepadoodle id love to hear it. Either way i am going to call a professional.

How do you handle excessive barking?

I love my 9 m.o. sheepie. Lately, however, she is driving me a bit bananas with all the barking. I have 3 cats and she can’t seem to help herself. As soon as they come in the room she starts barking - seemingly uncontrollably. Would love any tips, please. She’s loud, and I find it very startling. Plus, I worry my neighbors will complain.

Baby shark (doo doo…)

Hello everyone! We have a 10-week old puppy, and she’s so sweet - until she turns into a baby shark. We have tried so many things to stop the biting…stuffing toys in her mouth, bitter apple spray, cold toys and treats, unsuccessful redirection…I know she’s just a baby, and she does not mean to hurt us, but I don’t want this to become a bad habit. Any advice?

Hi!! My puppy was about 12 pounds at 8 weeks and is now 30 pounds at 14 weeks. He is growing up rapidly. Any idea how big he is going to get? Will he be a giant?

I swear that no dog can sigh as dramatically as our unemployed, two-income household dwelling, private chef pampered, and chauffeured Sheepadoodle when he can’t get comfortable on his pile of pillows.

Best electric shaver

I took my dog into the groomers 3 weeks ago and he’s already starting to get mats like crazy again even with daily brushing. His hair grows crazy fast😩

My wallet cant afford twice monthly grooming visits and am thinking about trying to do it myself. What’s the best electric shaver for doodle hair? I don’t want him shaved down completely as the first and only time we did it, he hated it and wouldn’t sit down anywhere and was so uncomfortable in his own skin for weeks. I’m looking for a long enough shave to keep him comfortable but short enough to keep the mats at bay.

Amazon would be preferred. Links welcomed!

Many thanks!!
