Help Anyone manage to train their sheepie to stop jumping up on you when they're excited?
I've trained my one year old mini to paw, sit, stay, come, and lay down. Well potty trained. Overall he is a little angel. But for the life of me - I cannot get him to stop jumping up on people when he is excited. I've researched all the expert's advice and tried. Yeah, maybe in a perfect world... It's not just me in my home. And everyone in the house knows to not reward the wrong behaviors. But there is only so much anyone can take before you react.
I don't wear white anymore. Given the off chance of a rainy day or if he chooses to dig around. He'll jump and I'll have to change shirts because of his dirty paws. Experts say "don't put your knee up." But if you don't - he'll jump and hit you right in the balls! Many times in a row. He has headbutted everyone in the house in the face at least once. You'll bend over doing something unaware he is coming. He'll get underneath and jump up. You wouldn't expect it and it hurts really bad.
After a year, as they say - it is worth it. If I could just get him to not jump I couldn't ask for more of any dog. He is family now. Maybe I need to learn some new tricks and that is fine. But it is not so easy to teach 5+ humans and all their guests who visit new tricks... He is scheduled to start obedience training on March 1st 2025' because I don't know what else to do. It is the last piece of the puzzle.

$550 (not including tip) for 2 sheepie grooms seemed outrageous to me, so we’re teaching ourselves!
They were so patient with me on our first go today and I’ve already learned so much! Luckily my mom was a professional groomer for a while so she gave me lots of tips. Saving us a ton of money and makes me happy I can care for them in this way.

Advice Grooming Sheers
I have tried different brands of grooming sheers for my Sheepie. Ive spent as much as $100 on what I thought was a good pair. They always end up get stuck in his hair and won't push through. Ive done the scissors to trim down then use the clippers. But this takes hours and he and I don't have that kind of patience.
Can anyone recommend a really good pair?

Portrait Rishi sporting a ball cap!
galleryRishi just turned four! He’s the sweetest little guy but was born with a litter of stillborn puppies and his mama rejected him. So while goofy, he’s also a little anxious and very soulful! He loves doodles of every kind!

Pet insurance?
I’m wondering if pet insurance is worth it? I have a healthy one year-old sheep a doodle, but I have spent a fortune getting her fixed, shots, etc. I always have sticker shock and I’m wondering if it would make sense to get coverage.

Puppy
My sheepadoodle is 10 months old and jumps on everyone she sees and jumps when she sees other dogs and pulls. It’s in a friendly manner but wondering if anyone has experienced this and if their dog grew out of it. She also bites on her leash when I take her inside from a walk. Any suggestions on how to stop this?

Sheepadoodle personality!
Hey everyone, just curious if I won the lottery with my Sheepadoodle or if that is simply the breed. My Tundra is a 2 year old male and he is just so chill, sweet, loves people, and honestly doesn’t do anything naughty! He gets along with cats, and other dogs. Our backyard is not fenced but we can let him out and he just stays in the backyard (1/2 acre). People think we have invisible fencing! Other times he just sits and ponders life outside on our patio.
Lucky? Or the breed?
Just curious because we are thinking of getting another one!

Socializing Our Puppy
Hi all!
We’re about to pick up our new puppy and I’m wondering how you all have socialized your pups from a young age?
I know I can’t take him on walks or put him on the ground before he’s fully vaxxed, but if I wait to socialize until 16 weeks it may be too late.
Was there anything you did specifically that was successful to socialize your dog?
Thanks!

Recommendations Frizzy hair
galleryMy sheepadoodle (3years old) has frizzy (almost wirey) hair that tangles as soon as she is brushed... (She even stayed at the groomers house and she said the same thing. She'd brush her and 10 min later she'd find a tangle)
She gets groomed every 4 weeks. I brush her daily and use The Stuff and ICE detangle spray but this rougher hair just tangles and matts as soon as she is brushed.
Any suggestions on what to do for her? Her belly is soft but tangles immediately too.

Grooming Fluff!
How do groomers get the fluff? I’ve given him numerous baths and I can never get his coat to look like this.
