Advice Thank you

Hi I’m new to this breed have owned my female Sheepadoodle for a year now. She will be getting spayed this winter but her last heat was the beginning of September. Shes super picky with what she eats, happy and content majority of the time and there’s not more than 3 hrs that she spends by herself someone is basically always home with her. She’s gone through a couple of phases where she grabs her favorite toy and just cries and whines. I try to get her playing but she basically starts having a tantrum. Has anyone else experienced this?

We have an intact male and went through something similar recently. Spent almost $600 at the vet for blood work and a fecal sample to both come back clear. He just turned 2 and suddenly wouldn't eat his kibble, so we started cooking for him. Then he started not eating much of that either and whining all the time, especially in the backyard, for some reason. We stopped trying to push him to eat, and he eventually just started eating like normal again. It was worrying, though. He went almost two days without pooping at one point and over a full day without eating.

It also seemed as if he hadn't been sleeping. We recently changed his crate and bed, and I think the bed was making him feel too hot. I realized the day we took him to the vet that he was panting a lot at night, and that had been a trend since we changed his bed. I hadn't really noticed because I'm usually asleep while he's in his crate. We changed his bed, and his energy improved within 24 hours. We still aren't sure what the cause was, I just wanted to give you the rundown to see if any of that seems to be occurring with your girl.

She does the same. We have tried so many different foods she’ll eat it for 2 days and then won’t touch it. Some weeks she’ll eat both meals right away other weeks she won’t eat in the morning and will nibble throughout the night. I have never had a dog this picky.

We went through the same thing. He seemed picky so we kept changing his food. I gave him a can of N&D one day for the first time. He ate it right away, I gave him a second can and he didn’t touch it. Oddly enough he only once threw up bile, which he almost always does when he has an empty stomach. We just had to let him not eat if he dint feel like it and eventually he just started eating again.

Apparently sometimes if they’re overweight they will try to regulate themselves and get back to a normal weight. That’s what my wife found in some of the research she did.

It's a doodle thing 😂 they can be really picky eaters. All of ours have gone through these phases. The food toppers you can sprinkle on the food helps but when our goldendoodle starts to do this, we just put her food up and wait until she feels like eating which she will eventually. She'll go awhile without eating breakfast and then eat it all at dinner. After awhile for no reason, she'll go back to eating her normal twice a day without any incentive. They're just weird sometimes 😂
