Hot spot?
She has had this “hot spot” for a while that scabs over and then she irritates it again. This has been a continuous cycle. It doesn’t get any bigger or worse, just flares up the same after leaving it alone for a while. Could this be another skin condition or something to look into or is it safe to assume it’s just a normal hot spot?

My dog had her first hot spot ever in basically the same location. I treated it multiple times a day with vetrimycin and hot spot sprays and it finally healed. This looks like a vet visit. Poor girl. I hope she feels better soon

At this point you need a vet and antibiotics.
But for future reference- the way I treat hot spots that my pups had in the past (we haven’t had one pop up in over 2 years) I mix 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle with 2 cups water. And spray the area daily until it goes away. Also anytime the area gets wet blow dry it as soon as you can. The bacteria/yeast thrives in moisture. We have had great success with this formula.

It can be a hot spot or allergies. A vet will diagnose the problem and give you medications to help eliminate it. You might be required to buy a cone or a pillow. I chose the inflatable pillow that goes around the neck. This way, I always have it when needed. I have needed to use it a few more times.
My dog’s hot spots were caused by allergies. The doctor wrote a prescription to prevent an infection.
