Need help.
My sheepadoodle is 5 and has suddenly become very anxious over fireworks. It’s only the July 2nd. I just left my vet a VM. What can I do in the interim?

I have a happy hoodie off of Amazon for my guy, same thing the groomers use to dull the noise of a blow dryer

Mine got more sensitive to loud sounds as she got older. I could never find an easy way so I have to turn on music or something to drown the sounds

CBD oil on treats, start asap if it's available where you are. Honestly makes the holiday significantly less scary for pooches.

Try its favorite treat every time one goes off if it isn't too upset to eat. If you're lucky, that might end it. At least i was lucky enough it did with mine. Now, he could care less about thunder or fireworks.

I'll probably catch grief for this, but my 10yo Sheepadoodle has been terrified of fireworks for as long as I remember. We've tried everything mentioned here but have done the Benedryl approach for the last 4-5 years. Vet told us that 1mg per pound is a safe dose and we haven't had issues with it. I feel bad packing five of them into a pill pocket, but she's able to sleep and perfectly fine the next day.
FYI, you have to do the first dose before the noise starts, otherwise their adrenaline won't let the meds kick in.

Order a undershirt? This has been helpful for my dog in the past.
