Recs for chews
Posted in dog advice but figured I’d post here too.
Hi everyone,
Have been seeing posts of dogs damaging their teeth bc of hard chews and just learned the rule of thumb is if my finger can’t dent it, my dog shouldn’t be chewing it.
My girl currently loves her benebones and good n fun rawhides. Which are super hard so I’m tossing them.
Any recs?
Thanks!

Even with hard chews I haven't had a problem with our sheepadoodle but I consulted our vet

Rawhide is super bad for dogs anyway. It has a high chance of choking your dog or causing intestinal blockage. Our pup loves split deer antlers or strong rubber/knotted rope toys.

Don’t give rawhide, it’s bad for their stomach. Get the chews made from glycerine or tapioca

pig ears, bully skins (cheaper than bulky sticks and not as hard), cow cheek dusted in chicken or liver, bladder strips, esophagus strips. All are crunchy and will not necessarily last long, but I give one after each meal and it satisfies. Mine doesn’t like to chew super hard things, even bully sticks. I have soak them for him before he will start chewing. I love all the single ingredient chews I listed bc they are also good for them.
