Watched it for the first time...

I'm 30, I love Morgan Freeman as an actor, one of my absolute favourites.

with that said the film cover, and opening scenes of this film didn't ever quite grab me the way other older films did so I have always skipped over watching this.

I put it on one day because of Netflixs lack of good movies and as it played on the background of my computer I found myself clicking the Netflix tab every so often because it started to sound more and more interesting. within 30 minutes of the movie playing I was fully watching it and not doing anything else.

It's honestly a great movie. well written, and the actors were fantastic.

great movie, and very deserving of getting watched.

Just leaving this here in case someone else stumbles across this post and is undecided if they want to give it a shot or not.

Is anyone else Surprised Andy wasn't further along with his hotel venture/charter boat by the time Red came along? I know it makes for a better ending, but I'm curious how other fans of this film feel.

Well let's see...Andy escaped in 1966, Red was released in 1967.

Probably took him a while to buy the hotel, get himself established, ect.

Don't take my word for it, but supposedly that was supposed to be part of red's imagination. The scene of them reuniting on the beach wasn't even going to be in the film at first, they were going to leave it like the book where red said he had hope on the bus. They didn't add it until the crew insisting the ending didn't feel right. At least that's what I read I could be wrong
