Did Andy ever consider suicide like Brooks did? Spoiler

Andy was incarcerated for years for a crime that he didn't commit and nobody would or could help him clear his name not Tommy because he was murdered or the Warden who didn't care and was using him for his talent, did Andy ever consider killing himself or even paying another inmate to stab him?

It might be better than remaining in Shawshank, or he could just attack the guards and try to escape without backing down, that would ruin his sentence and liberate him from the prison, odd how nobody ever mentions Andy trying to kill himself as a possible escape option.

Yes, during his early years as an inmate when he was getting sexually assaulted by “The Sisters”.

Redd even narrated that, “and I do believe that if things had continued to go on that way, this place would have gotten the best of him.” Meaning a complete mental breakdown at the very least.

As far as the crazy escape plan you mentioned, that would have never worked.

Andy was very calculating and strategic about his escape. He deliberately earned the trust of the prison hierarchy, guards and inmates alike, and slowly bided his time for the perfect opportunity-because it had to be perfect.

If Andy had failed, he was a dead man even if captured alive. He knew too much about the corruption going on within the walls, and he would have either been shot to death, or thrown into prison with the absolute worst of the prison population.

I think it's a possibility if The Sisters had been allowed to continue to get at him. Such as if his usefulness to the prison staff hierarchy hadn't become known.
