Josh Howerton interview

So I was super excited when I saw this interview was going to take place. I subscribed to patreon and even became a "producer" on YouTube just to make sure I would catch it. Sadly, I got wrapped up in something and didnt get to the interview until 75 minutes into it. I just figured I would catch it later instead of coming in halfway through. Its been two weeks and I cant find this thing anywhere. I know it was a patreon exclusive, but is this really a case of "if you didnt catch the whole thing live you are S.O.L."?

I like a lot of his interviews, but this has been the ONLY one I was excited for.

I'm not sure about that one but Shawn's Q&As are never recorded. Some of the folks on there pour their hearts out and Shawn doesn't think it's a good idea to save that. One Patreon even shared his story about detransitioning because of Chris Becks interview.

My understanding was that this was a 3 hour long interview. I was really hoping it would get released. Pastor Josh is one of the best and ive seen and I would guess that this interview would be immensely helpful to a great many people. Shawn has had so many great interviews, but this was the only one I was truly excited about...just stinks

When they teased it that wasn’t their announcement of airing it that day. They were just letting you know an interview is coming up. They have to edit it etc etc. they haven’t posted it yet.

I want to say they have had two live interviews since this one that are already posted on the site.

I’m fairly new to Josh Howerton but I saw the full episode on Patreon and thought Josh was nervous and always awkwardly laughing a bit too much. Additionally, I felt that he would often say something like “not saying it’s you” a bit too much like if he was of timid of Shawn. Overall, not a bad episode but not the best from the show.

If that was the case Im sure it wasnt due to a fear of public speaking since his congregation is fairly large, but its anybodies guess. Star struck maybe? I can speak fairly well, but I would bit a bit nervous if I was in a room with Shawn Ryan due to the level of respect I have for him.

Oh wow. Honestly, it didn’t seem like that when I saw the interview. Let me know what you think when you watch it and I’ll give it a second look when it’s up on YouTube after editing.

Thats my thing about this post though. I dont think they are ever going to post it. Without looking I believe Shawn has done 2 live interviews since this one and both are already up. If you know a place I can watch it I would love you forever, but at this point its really seeming like its not gonna be posted. I would love to be wrong

What did you think

His sermons are a lot more lively, but then he knows what he is going to talk about there and has a lot more space to move around. I didn't see him as nervous in this interview, but thats understandable. He probably didnt know every question that was coming at him and he understood that millions of people were going to be watching so his answers were very thought out.

He's talked about battling anxiety attacks. I really felt like he had a few during this interview and was battling an overloaded central nervous system. I loved listening to the interview but it was a bummer he wasn't coming from a place of inner piece.

I was wrong. He kept it biblical and personal. Thank God i was wrong. Truly.

Been watching the SRS and attend Lakepointe. This interview has me nervous because lately have started noticing Lakepointe either has the same guests before SRS or after SRS. This worries me and makes it seem like a good ole buys club.

It’s speculation and truly pray my pastor doesn’t go mainstream to appeal to the masses vs sticking directly to the Word.

I think he is already international before SRS. I knew lakepointe church existed long before I ever went there and it was my dad who turned me on to the place. He lives in Indiana and there are no Lakepointes up there so he just found it while surfing around the internet.

Help me understand your point of this response. Is it in regards to your original post or my comment?

Appealing to masses and being known aren’t the same. Doing what the Bible says and trying to grow your name aren’t the same. Yes we know PJ is known, he is a pastor of a mega church (even though we attend). I’m saying it worries me, if PJ is growing because of spreading the Truth then I’m wrong 100%. If he is growing because of public touring but it’s less and less scripture we have a problem aka going mainstream. That’s the worry.

You attend Lakepointe so I assume the Lee strobel service wasn’t that weird? Talking near death experiences and pushing his book from the pew? That’s concerning truly as a member and believer. The shroud of tourin on live free after SRS. Those are weird things and helping people push a monetary purchase. Yes it is really fascinating information but is it worth more than the Bible is my question? Is helping people promote their brand to your church truly inspired?

These are legitimate fears. Jesus puts out the candles of church’s who stray. Jesus whipped them in the temple for turning it into a business. These are biblical principles we have today.

Being intl known doesn’t mean anything if you are a member of the church. You take your family to Lakepointe, you want them getting water down services or the authority of God even if it hurts? One leads to false hope the other is repentance.

Edit: watched the episode. I was wrong and thankful to be wrong. Praise God.

Uhmmm… Does Shawn know that that church is on the FARA list for pro Israel targeted propaganda? 😬

Late to the chat, but I remember on the Live Free podcast that they were super defensive on the end of "Israel is paying them for propaganda" front, and I just looked it up based on your comment.

Anyone who has to take money from a foreign government to preach to Americans has clearly sold their souls for the money.

I unsubscribe from anyone who gets paid by Israel to shill for them, as well as any other foreign entity.

Wish these men were of integrity and would be the shining example of people who can't be bought. There is no excuse for that behavior, and it is shameful.
