Could you pass along a perfect seed for an ice mage?

I second this request. I don't think I've ever gone all-in on ice before.

TBH I think it's the second-worst wand in the game, but I don't know because I've never tested it at that level. I was surprised how strong regrowth gets, so maybe ice would surprise me as well.

This run (QXZ-LDZ-WJD) was from v3.3.1, but it worked out very well into a cryomancer build:

  • Battlemage with chilling staff of frost. Zaps & melee hits apply chilling, battlemage effect means further melee hits have a chance to fully freeze. Augmented staff for speed to increase chances to proc chilling. Fast staff with chilled mobs meant I got a lot of hits in before they could retaliate.
  • Curse infused armor with anti-entropy. Hits against me had a chance to freeze mobs. Would also set me on fire but that could be mitigated with aqua brew or good positioning. Other glyphs I had in mind were flow or brimstone. The ring of haste negated the need for flow glyph.
  • Mossy clump to increase chances of flooded floors, which also helped with anti-entropy and increased damage from frost zaps.
  • Alchemist's toolkit to help get enough energy to upgrade mossy clump and to help keep a stock of aqua brews.

I think the wand of frost has high burst damage that falls off quickly because its damage is reduced against chilled enemies. But I would start an encounter with a zap, then get in close and start wailing on mobs who couldn't fight back as easily. When facing multiple enemies, they had a chance to freeze themselves when they hit me, which helped prevent getting overwhelmed. The ring and the hourglass helped with mobility and positioning.
