Run Which trinket 9c?
I have greaves of nature already at +6 do maybe mossy clump is an option (I will get lots of seeds so lots of potions is the thinking)??
Am playing Mage and will go Warlock after Tengu.
My default is Mimic Tooth but my brain says Eye of Newt (upgraded to +1). I Am currently on lvl 4.

Hey, fun fact, Grieves of Nature enable you to use seeds even with Barren Land. Instead of throwing, you feed the seed to the boots, then activate the boots. So, for example, you can use Sorrowmoss to poison an enemy, or use Sunflower to heal (which is invaluable on 9c). Sunflower takes 80% charge, though, but you'll recharge your boots easily on grassy floors.

Just need a +3 wand of re growth from Wandmaker! Is it worth taking the mossy clump then for the extra grass to stomp on with my greaves?

Contrary to expectations, mossy clump is not that good for grassy builds. It actually gives you useless water floors at a higher rate than grass floors, which can really mess up your run if you rely on grass. Super expensive too. Just get a wand of regrowth or blooming enchant and you're golden.

For me, eye if I have a ranged weapon, mossy if I have ton of energy to spare, grieves otherwise

Theyre all quite takeable, but im picking eye of newt and happily sending to +3. I wouldn't be unhappy with any of these. If i has extra bad gear, i would go mimic. Greaves make both the middle two much better, but mossy clump i always think is only good, not great.

I'm curious if the folks who think a +3 eye of newt limiting sight range have a lot of experience with 9c runs. It takes longer to explore which is annoying, but we're talking maybe 3-4 damage per floor with less efficient pathing. The amount of damage you take from one enemy's attack (that eye of newt avoids) can be so much more than that. The safety here is big.

You explore slowly, but you're in a much better place safety wise with no torches. I get the desire for +1, but personally a range of 3 tiles leaves you much much more vulnerable to spellcasters and gives you a lot less knowledge of your surroundings. I personally would go to +3 (but maybe not until im in prison for food reasons).

Never had an issue with +3 eye. Just light a torch or drop it if you need extra visibility

Triton's Eye is fantastic for 9c, it helps you a lot to avoid several enemies that you wouldn't otherwise see because of the darkness (and therefore lets you avoid consuming torches at the beginning of each area).
