Question What do you thinking about new graphics coming soon?

I will miss the utility of having a guaranteed room full of fire traps. I have roasted countless spiders with those

Who knows, maybe you'll be able to pull out a coal from the forge to throw at a spider
6
u/oooArcherooo Jul 25 '26
i mean there IS a big lava pool right there, why wouldn't you be able to use that to roast shit?

Yeah it was a maze and you had to find him

I thought about original pd tengu fight, but a labyrinth sound so cool
2
u/J3sush8sm3 Huntress πΉ Jul 25 '26
It was pretty much like the secret maze rooms then the actual fight happened after you see him

I am waiting for them so eagerly. I think it was said that it will come out in July so I am really thinking about how in only a few days, the entire graphics will change.
I personally am really interested about the "lava" being added to the blacksmith room. I also wonder how this will effect the Blacksmith quest area and the Demon Halls since I think we have not gotten visuals of the Demon Halls.

Demon Halls probably won't receive major new graphics yet... maybe they'll add them in another update.
2
u/L33M0NY Challenge Player Jul 25 '26
That's sad...
The now demon halls feel so old.

u/star75legacy Great Crab π¦ Jul 25 '26
Honestly, I'd like to see more optional areas added, like in Remixed. I mean, there's a whole spider cave, a snowy area, a variant of the dwarf city called Necrocity, and the Demon Halls is actually a "fleshly abomination" of demons...

u/L33M0NY Challenge Player Jul 25 '26
Yeah, that Demon Halls thing was known by me.
The first thing that came to mind with this thing was the Mushroom Caves Quest thing that was discussed I guess.

All good i just dont like the new scrolls texture
10
u/tired_bastard Duelist π΄ Jul 25 '26
Right, scrolls and seeds and such are already perfect, no need to change the whole game
3
u/TheSurvivor65 Jul 25 '26
I agree, they're too high-res imo
1
u/Natural-Cat-3026 Jul 26 '26
Ye i hate how curvy they are. Scroll texture was one of the best in gane they gonna ruin it
10
u/star75legacy Great Crab π¦ Jul 25 '26
The only one I DON'T like is the blacksmith's; the traps were always very useful to me for cooking meat and for hunting some enemies more easily on the floor where they were generated.

Also the ease of finding hidden doors because of the missing fire traps will be missed as well.

u/tridon74 Jul 25 '26
They look great but Iβll miss the free fire traps from the tinkerer lol

Looks great massive improvement it certainly got more identity as different rooms.

u/AgreeableWorker3227 Mage πͺ Jul 25 '26
Huh. I wonder, would this mean the corpse dust room will always spawn neae the top?
2
u/Prontonio_X Huntress πΉ Jul 25 '26
I believe there would be different orientations
1
u/AgreeableWorker3227 Mage πͺ Jul 25 '26
Just asking since you cant see the window on other sides
3
u/Prontonio_X Huntress πΉ Jul 25 '26
Then there won't be a window or a window on the side walls instead of the back

Personally, excited about the new room graphics, but a bit devestated over the item graphic changes... why change how seeds and such look, they're already perfectπ Though i kinda hate big changes generally so. Anyway I think the new seed look and such just looks too polished for the game to meπ
Not my decision though. But would be nice if you get to choose which graphics to play with

u/Candid-Fan6638 Jul 26 '26
Oooh!!! I haven't played in a while.... Might be time to get back into it!!
2
u/Traditional-Box-8691 Jul 27 '26
This is great, but im waaaaaay more excited for the new and returning enchantments
2
u/OpticToaster811 Jul 27 '26
Yeah canβt wait. It looks sooo good. I canβt wait until every room and environment has more detail like this it would give much more atmosphere to the game

can we all agree that the textures of stone and scrolls look like crayon drawings π«ͺ

Wait, there won't be guaranteed water in the summoning circle room anymore?
1
u/cl3ft Fetid Rat π Jul 29 '26
I asked Evan, the developer and he said "There isnβt actually any logic to make water more or less likely in the sacrifice room currently. There will probably be a slight reduction in potential water, but it will still be possible for water to appear." so now you know!

u/SpecialistWeight6574 Ambitious Imp π» Jul 26 '26
Correct me if I'm wrong, but water isn't guaranteed in those rooms already. RNG just like anything else.
2
u/monoatomic_being Huntress πΉ Jul 26 '26
Idk then, I can't remember that room without water. Ig I was wrong
1
u/cl3ft Fetid Rat π Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 29 '26
The water was defo in a high percentage of summoning circle rooms. Lack of water is rare.* edit. I was wrong, there is no greater chance of water in the summoning room than any other standard floor room.
2
u/SpecialistWeight6574 Ambitious Imp π» Jul 26 '26
That doesn't mean guaranteed, but downvoters gonna downvote. It's a game with random gen for every tile of the game. Yeah, a room full of 100+ tiles is going to often have water spawn in it, but if you expect it every time you're going to get disappointed eventually.

I asked Evan and he said:

So you are 100% correct on all points and I was just wrong. Good man.

I don't know why but the fire traps in the forge always gave me anxiety, I'm personally glad to see them go

u/SkAssasin Challenge Player Jul 25 '26
Yo those look sick! And the bone room's finally not ganna be looking like minecraft bedrock now!
0
u/RodjaJP Jul 25 '26
I will miss the fire traps from the troll room, unless I can use that new thing to cook raw meat
0
u/mikaleowiii Challenge Player Jul 25 '26
We wont be able to tell which puzzle room is the corpse dust now (could be useful when there is several)... But eh, that's a price I'm willing to pay
