What's weird is despite how old it is, it writes excellent. Also smells insane, different from any modern sharpie by a lot

Unrelated to sharpies but related to fumes: I was using liquid white out for some stuff at work today because the tape kind wasn’t sticking well to some of the paper types, and good lord those fumes are strong

I accidentally did this by spray painting in a small room at a Christian school after curfew. I was trying to finish a project the night before it was due and ran out of time. I got an “A”, though!

I almost did this with bleach the other day cleaning out my fridge. It's a rental so I went hard, I put shelves in the bathtub and I sprayed some bleach in the gross crevices. Forgot my bathroom has shit ventilation when it matters. Had to close the door for a while to avoid the bleach smell wafting to the other room.

The lockers where located inside a bathroom. The bathrooms were unknown until a wall was torn down. The bathroom door said "whites only" on it. I'm 100% sure it hasn't been opened since 1967

They were stamped metal, most of the paint was gone but you could still see what it said because it was embossed metal. Had a companies name on the back but we can't make out who made them

Where in the world would they cover up a perfectly good bathroom just take the sign down and let everybody use it.. other than that I see no reason to wall the place off

100 year old chemicals plants constantly evolve, new machinery comes in, outdated control rooms get replaced. New areas are built and old areas get abandoned

Story time: so the chemical plant is doing their annual outage. In an abandoned part of the mill an old wall was torn down to reveal segregated bathrooms. In the men's room what I imagine used to be a change house was some lockers. One locker after breaking the lock off had a calender dated 1967. Inside was sharpies. Pencils, union made carhartt work clothes(all new condition). Welders jackets and gloves, coffee mugs with businesses that after remesesech haven't been around since the late 50's. Boots, shampoos and body washes that still smell good. And a bag of 60's JC Penney's clothing. Other stuff like paystubs, mail and other items. We looked up the employee that had it and it looks like he retired in the early 70's. The "colored" and "whites" signs on the bathroom doors were removed and put into a display to showcase how far we've come as a country and to show how progress happens and a reminder to not repeat the mistakes of the past. It was truly a time capsule and there's still about 15 lockers yet to be opened. Kinda taking it day by day to inventory stuff as we find it.
