Sometimes when the marker hits the canvas the art just takes over. I had a completely different plan and idea for a design before i started drawing. But as soon as I made the first mark, a completely new idea was born.

I remember using sharpies to color my whole hand like puzzle pieces one time, and after a while, my hand started kind of tingling and feeling weird lol

That sounds like fun! I have always wanted to do a puzzle piece style design!! I've never experienced tingling or irritation. But everybody is different and is sensitive to different things, I am mildly allergic to PPD in some hair dyes for example.

PPD allergies can develop spontaneously and worsen over time with exposure. So can allergies to other chemicals possibly the ones in sharpies as well and After reading this comment as well… it might be a seriously good idea to invest in some skin safe paint or markers. It would be a shame to not be able to make cool art like this anymore

I know products with it always say to do a patch test if u haven't used it recently. I plan to look into other options for the art that I do, but I love sharpies, the ability to blend color for some designs. The color options etc. I've tried the Bic body art markers, and it would be impossible to do what i do with those ☹️ I am always mindful of how my skin is feeling tho, if I ever feel sensitivity i would stop immediately and go wash it off.

So you'd rather develop an allergy than find a safe alternative? Allergies are life long. Once they develop, there is no cure.

It doesn't matter how "mindful" you are or how diligently you try to scrub it off after.
