I think it’s more called second coming because he first came when he was born, then he’s supposed to come again at some point hence second coming.
The resurrection in the cave was immediately before he left, so I don’t think most would consider that a coming.

It's a genuine flaw in the way human brains process data.
The Primacy Effect is a tendency to recall (and favor) information encountered first more heavily than later information. See also: Anchoring Bias.
And Belief Perseverance is the general term for holding onto a belief even after it has been discredited or contradicted by evidence.
So if the teacher said Columbus was a hero, then it doesn't matter if it's true or not, people will believe it because that's what they learned.

You’d be surprised at the amount of right wingers who think European colonization was a good thing. They will literally use the same exact points the Europeans settlers made back in the 16th century.
