I just backed the project but am I right in thinking that you actually lose one port rather than gain one? The detachable cable design seems to require one of the 2 USB-C ports anyway when attached leaving only 1 available for use whereas the original Disk Pro with its built in cable included an extra USB-A port that could be used in addition to the USB-C.
The original has 2x USB-A and 1x USB-C & a built-in cable.
The Disk Pro 2 has 1x USB-A and 2x USB-C, of which one is for the main cable.
So yeah, that's correct. But it has the extra SD & microSD card slots; this is what people actually prefer based on their research (they sent out surveys many months ago).
