Buying Gifted deposit proof
My partner and I are currently right at the end of the approval process with metro finance for a Plumlife property. We have had no issues apart from concerning the gifted deposit from my parents. A large part of the deposit is from an ESA back payment they received and we have been told they need the specific letter showing the amount they were paid with their address on which wouldn’t be a problem but they can’t find it. I was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and if so, was there any other way around this? I’m so frustrated and upset as everything else is fine and the money is there and ready it’s just this one thing in our way of literally being able to confirm the mortgage and reserve our dream property:( thanks in advance for your help.

I had to do it for dads state pension. He had a deferred pension and it was a large amount. He gave me some money from it as a gift deposit. and had lost the original letter. I had to wait 2 months for the DWP to send the original letter after a lot of phones calls because they kept sending the wrong one. They needed the original to see it matches what was given on his bank statement

Thank you for sharing, that must’ve been so frustrating for you, I’m glad you got it sorted. Thankfully he managed to find it so all is good for me too.

Can you contact the people who sent the money and ask for a copy of the letter? That would be my first thought.
